When everyone raved about BotW, he went and gave it a 7/10 to get the spotlight for the week and had a video out complaining about Nintendo fanboys the day after he released the review. He means what I kinda echoed. Last year or so, there was a weird trend of a few different places saying "Sonic was never good." Surprised you didn't hear about it. IGN was the first, and there was a pretty big debate over it when that happened. They essentially said it was so early into gaming and people were too ignorant on the concept of "good games" at the time to properly discern how poor they supposedly were.

Which is a fucking stupid to take to make. You know what was early on in game development? The 70s and 80s, when arcades and Atari were top banana. It didn't stop people from recognizing what quality games versus shitty games were. I bet these guys thought video games started with Super Mario Brothers 3.

I don't have a problem with microtransactions. In fact, I don't have a problem with a lot of the various little business models that are associated with video games. But I do have a problem with is the AAA development scene taking these ideas - DLC, microtransactions, season passes, gatcha and loot boxes, etc - completely taking the piss with the idea and ruining any chance that the idea would be beneficial for the gaming industry.

About the only thing they haven't ruined yet are patches that update your game to keep game breaking bugs and glitches to a minimum, but you could argue that this model allows companies to shirk quality testing and get the games out the door sooner, using their customers as beta testers while they work on patches for the problems.

This is a hard line here. On one hand, I support people getting punished for falsely accusing someone of rape. On the other, the investigation couldn't prove or disprove that a rape even occurred. People should be allowed to be open about events that happened in their past, even those 30+ years ago, that may be hard to prove now. People have been molested and raped in their youth, and only came out with the info years later in a form of healing. Was this a form of healing for the woman? Her one mistake was naming the perp by name. That in itself is defamation if you can't conclusively prove that it was them. The other problem was the chain of command bowing to public pressure and essentially censuring the guy when he didn't have a tribunal or court case brought against him.

So, in my mind, the guy is the victim here, and he deserves some recompense for the actions expressed by both the blogger and his superiors. However, how did they even learn of this blogger's existence? Was it being paraded around and flashed across their screen? Was it being publicised? Or was it just a random blogger recounting her past and how she was raped, and the CID decided to be proactive with it? Rape is a hard thing to prove weeks after the fact, nevermind 30+ years. It's one thing to accuse someone of doing something in a blog, but there are various levels of accusation here. Did she go to the police with the accusation? I don't know. Should probably read up on it if I get a spare minute.
