Eretzvaju / Evil Zone: One of my favorite fighting games ever, and it's either unknown or shit on by everyone who has heard of it.

Super Double Dragon: Possibly my favorite DD game, but seems to be hated online. Or called a bad game just because the Japanese version has more content.

Pretty much every Koei "Warriors" title: Professional video game review sites can go fuck off. That is all. Especially painful since my favorite of the various series is Samurai Warriors, which is probably the least-known out of all of them.

What distance? Is there any visual indication I'm doing *something* like a glint in the eyes or having to point at whatever I'm affecting?

Assuming no to the last question (if yes, I'd be VERY cautious to ever use it with other people around), probably personal amusement and maybe some casino trips. I'd love to help people too, but realistically the chances of being there in time to help are tiny. But if I was in a situation where it could help w/o exposing the fact I have the power, I'd help.
Anyone who says they'd use it openly is extremely naive; you'll quickly be hauled away to a secret facility to be experimented on, or hunted and killed by police if you're found to be "too dangerous."
Pretending to be a great magician isn't using it "openly," you're not letting them know you're using a super-power to perform the tricks.

Also his plan relied more on luck than intelect itself.

And that's just it. That's why even on a basic level of "do you like him as a character?" my answer is no. He's presented as such a genius and certainly thinks highly of himself, but he constantly wins or survives solely due to sheer dumb luck. He's also such a hypocrite and karma Houdini, and I've always hated those sorts of characters.
Until the last episode, but even then I think he got a far better send-off than he deserved

Don't know about the latter, but I despised Light the entire time and was rooting for his downfall and disappointed that he got a semi-sympathetic end instead of (apparently; didn't read it) the original manga version

In just the 2nd episode, he attempts to kill a police detective for the high crime of...insulting him. How noble! A few more episodes in, and he's murdering a ton of totally-not-evil-actually-the-good-guys FBI agents and other cops because they're investigating him, and caps it off by killing one of the victim's widows after discovering she had nearly pieced the clues together.
Never once is any option explored to deal with lawful authorities who despite being against him are not evil other than "yeah, I'll murder them."
The entire time he's an insufferable narcissist about how brilliant he is....which I'd actually find entertaining if it were at all true. He is smart, but he's also such a huge dumbass that it more than counter-balances his ability to scheme. Nearly every problem of danger spot he finds himself in throughout the anime is of his own making, such as the (again) brilliant idea to kill off the investigator specifically assigned to him rather than...say...acting like a normal teen around him until he figures there's nothing to the case and leaves, like he was ABOUT TO.
He can't even defeat his rival with his own intellect, instead he's defeated there at every turn despite having so many advantages in the match-up with his supernatural nigh-untraceable powers. Instead, he has to resort to pressuring a Shinigami to take out L for him, as he was about to be defeated and was desperate.

There is nothing at all redeeming or endearing about Light. I watched Death Note after seeing incessant comparisons of his character and personality to Lelouch from Code Geass and after getting through the entire anime (if I hadn't cheated and skipped ahead to the last episode to make sure that prick actually got some karma finally, and had that to look forward to I don't think I could've even made it through the last plot arc) I feel genuinely insulted and angry that so many people would dare impugn Lelouch, who while no saint at least DOES have plenty of redeeming qualities and fights a blatantly evil empire instead of well-meaning cops, by equating him to this scumbag.

No, he didn't. Germany was a mess before and after him, his war machine gave a temporary economic boost and theft from the people sent to be tortured, enslaved, and killed in concentration camps helped fund his regime. Once the war was over, Germany was in an even bigger mess financially and needed tons of outside funding and support just to remain stable. The Marshall Plan, look it up; I know hitler lovers are too stupid to have heard of that or know jack shit about history at all.
His leadership was a complete clusterfuck with no hierarchy of command just an confusing zig-zagging web of authority that constantly hindered nazi germany and helped restrict their military successes. His "empire" didn't even last 10 years and didn't even last until the end of his life. As a conquerer, he's a complete failure ("but but....he took on THE WORLD!" No, he took on a few major countries and also France, while aided by a few himself. Maybe. I think that would be premature, though. Look what happened with Clinton in the 90s - Gingrich and the Republicans were so trigger-happy in trying to accuse Bill of various misdealings and begin impeachment that even when something actually DID happen it didn't cost the president any public support because it was generally seen to be a Republican witch hunt.

In that sense, the Republican congress that is unwilling to impeach could be a blessing in disguise for Democrats, because they don't have to spend any political capital on making the president look like a victim of Washington bureaucracy and the "deep state" (and you can bet your ass that's what he would paint it as).

This. I don't want an impeachment rushed...that just means we get "President Y'allQaeda" and we're even worse off, PLUS it might look purely political and enrage Trump voters.
Better to have a thorough examination with each new piece of evidence leaving Trump a lame duck while still in office but waiting until you have the full picture to remove him. And part of that full picture being to ensnare every other person involved, hopefully eliminating Pence if not also Ryan (latter's a long shot, former vetted Michael Flynn and seems likely). Also buys time to not impeach until after the 2018 elections where the building anger over Trump's betraying our country gets Dems the House and thus when Trump and Pence are impeached, Republicans aren't rewarded for being traitors by putting an even more conservative person in office.

Right now Dems need to put minimal attention towards the investigation, let it play out on its own. They need to focus on winning big in 2018 and 2020. At every level of government.

If drawing your weapon causes the aggressor to flee and avoids needing to use violence at all, it sounds like a pretty good weapon to me.

Obviously. It's bs, just like Muhammad Ali vs. Antonio Inoki was (was told he could only kick with his hands on the mat or some bs, hence his weird "crouch kick" fighting stance). Except Floyd's no where near as good as Ali so that's already an insulting comparison, and at least Inoki was given *some* non-boxing options.

The only thing that'd make the fight interesting/fun is if Connor ignores the bs rules and starts throwing some kicks to the leg or something. Maybe Floyd goes for a hug and Connor takes him down hard and/or gets him in a hold for a moment.
But that probably won't happen.

In any case, they're both assholes. I'd want to see it if they were going to beat the snot out of each other, but it's just going to be a jab and run 12 round decision match. Pass.

The real trick would be people going "Hey, how the hell are you able to constantly get all these videos of Spider-Man when no one else can?", but that's the same problem you have with him as a photographer. And you can easily get around it by just implying that Peter knows Spider-Man, in the same sort of way Jimmy Olsen knows Superman. It wouldn't even be all that out of continuity, when you consider that in the comics, there were at least a few villains who specifically go after "Peter Parker" because he's clearly either friends with Spider-Man, or at least knows how to find him (and see also, Doc Ock in Spider-Man 2).

I disagree, I think justifying being able to take video footage of Spider-Man consistently is much harder to explain away than just some still pictures and that's what I was trying to say.
Besides, I don't see a benefit to posting the videos as Peter. He can just create a bogus name for a youtube account, call the account "The Real Spider-Man" or whatever, and upload the videos from public wifi hotspots (so he's not using his home IP address), and just be an unknown youtube account. Seems much safer than posting them as Peter.

Blighboy posted...
They already do the "Peter knows Spider-Man" thing in Homecoming.

Well, then that's just stupid and defeats the whole point of a secret identity. They may not think Peter's Spidey, but if they think they know each other, the villains will use Peter's family as leverage to find Spidey.
Sure, he always seemed to know where to find Spidey, but at least that was it and he usually tried to make it look like Spidey disliked him. Being pals is a whole 'nother level...

It has nothing to do w/ JJ the character or JK the actor.

It has to do with their damned fucking obsession with keeping Spider-Man in high school, and thus not yet working for JJ. It's just yet another thing we're missing out on due to Disney's/Marvel's stubborn insistence to keep Peter in high school.

Can't really blame Marvel for that - they've had precisely one movie to use or not use him. The other two were Sony's fault.

It's also kind of a weak assumption anyway, considering JJJ showed up in the comics in the very first issue of Amazing Spider-Man, when Peter was 15-years old and still in high school. Peter being in high school in the movies doesn't really prevent him from having the exact same relationship with JJJ that Peter originally had in the comics.

The real problem is that it's slightly less believable that Peter would be selling photos to a newspaper in 2017 than it was in 1963. A modern realistic Spider-Man would probably be more likely to just film himself and post videos on a Youtube channel or something.

I know there's advertising on youtube, but posting Spider-Man videos alone doesn't seem like it'd be enough to earn a living. Plus, he'd have to post them as "Spider-Man", not Peter, and then you take out the whole "still a normal guy, earning a living" and replace it with "covert operative making up fictitious job duties for when people ask what he does for a living."
Just wouldn't be the same...

Had never heard of it before, but the synopsis on the back and cheesy fantasy art on the cover sold me on it, and...damn am I lucky I gave it a chance. Best RPG series ever made, and I nearly passed it up for some other game in the bin instead.

Only prior RPGs I had played were Dragon Warrior on NES and Super Mario RPG on SNES.

Why in the world would he post this himself? What was he thinking?

The New York Times had the emails and was going to publish them today. My guess is Jr posted them to give the illusion of transparency and cooperation, and try to spin it like it was no big deal.

Those emails would've been out there today regardless.

Really, the craziest thing about this story isn't all the messed up shit she did. It's this:

Hilary H. Green’s lawyer called the ruling by the state Supreme Court “frustrating and surprising.” He pointed out that many of the accusations had long been public, and yet voters overwhelmingly reelected Green as a Harris County justice of the peace.

WTF is wrong with people?

Her sex life is her own business, though. Her ex seems small-minded and petty.

I'd agree, if not for the mention that she was sleeping with people related to cases. That's a major conflict of interest, which is not good.

Considering they were married at the time and in the divorce proceedings she's brazen enough to accuse *him* of cheating, I don't even think it's petty if none of the people she slept with were related to her job duties.

A Texas judge has been suspended amid accusations that she sexted in the courtroom, used her bailiff to buy drugs, hired prostitutes and once brought home marijuana seized from a defendant.

..............................................................

Hilary H. Green’s lawyer called the ruling by the state Supreme Court “frustrating and surprising.” He pointed out that many of the accusations had long been public, and yet voters overwhelmingly reelected Green as a Harris County justice of the peace.

While the judge claimed her husband had cheated on her and concealed assets, according to the paper, Ronald Green called his wife a drug addict who “operates daily with impaired judgment as evidenced by her presiding over cases in which she has ongoing sexual relationships with litigants and witnesses.”

As the Texas Commission on Judicial Conduct would later explain, those accusations prompted it to file a formal complaint against the judge — the first of several that informed its 316-page recommendation to suspend her this year.

More allegations came from Claude Barnes, whom Green acknowledged as her ex-lover — though she denied his testimony that they had hired prostitutes for threesomes.

While she denied hiring prostitutes, Green admitted to abusing drugs “almost every night” for several years, according to court records.

Once she paid her bailiff to get them, she wrote; sometimes she went herself — sometimes to “a gas station on the southwest side of Houston.”

..............................................................

The commission briefly questioned Green in person in February.

“I’m just thinking that you’re the judge and here you are abusing drugs,” an interrogator told her. “Judging these people for the crimes that they have committed, and yet you were committing that same crime.”

“Yes, ma’am,” the judge replied.

Do you think Hilary should go to jail? let's see what people think.
