I'm not sure if it would work as a standalone movie due to all the explanation and backstory you'd have to show.

I've always wanted a Silmarillion miniseries of some sort, but that's impossible for many reasons. If it ever does happen, I just hope Peter Jackson stays far away from it.

I get the idea of him being an uptight fuddy duddy cop, but you still need to make him somewhat likable. Him being a good cop doesn't save that.

Then they SPOILERS make him an adulterer, which takes away even the tiny bit of likability he could have possibly had.

I knew what they were trying to do also with all the war stuff, but they just executed most things wrong. The botched interrogation system doesn't help either and makes him seem like he's mentally unstable.

It's such a shame, cause the game, for the most part, is pretty damn good. I wish the main character was a private eye instead of a cop. I think you could flesh out his character more. Playing as a Sam Spade or Jake Gittes like character would have been more fun.

Been rewatching it and I wondered about others' opinions.

Originally, I stuck with him until he killed Mike, who is my favorite BB/BCS character. While rewatching, I noticed how shitty he became earlier than that point. I watch a lot of crime movies/shows so I can still like characters who are horrible people.

Skyler is more sympathetic, though I never really hated her or anything before.

When you do replays, unskippable cutscenes can be a pain. Still a great game. 1 will always be my favorite though. It has that charm that the others. I think it's the right mix of seriousness and goofiness that makes it charming to me. The stereotypical mob guys still make me laugh.

Yes. While it's inferior to New Vegas, it's still a fun game. Its pretty much Skyrim to New Vegas' Oblivion. People hate on the game way too much.
