I eat to stay alive and feeling hungry is uncomfortable and interferes with my cognition.

I'll eat enough so I'm not hungry but then just a few hours later, I feel hungry again. It makes me pretty mad.

Thanks!

Yes, a nearby public university. I will live on campus which will be the first time away from home at 27.

Do you get to live with other freshmen in the dorms or do they have nontraditional living for older students?

I will have my own dorm with my own bed which is what I want. Each floor of the suite will have several rooms for individuals connected by a hallway and a small common room.

When Americans travel abroad, it's fashionable to make fun of them and they can't say crap about where they are or say how much they like the US.

When foreigners come to America, they get to talk about how awesome their country is and they still get to make fun of the US.

I had to study everything for my university, so I found something to like in almost all my classes. That being said, my personal favorite is probably the Medieval Period, specifically the Viking Age. I also find lots of the great conquerors fascinating such as Ghengis Khan, Atilla, etc.

I also did quite a few classes on Japan, which were fascinating (mostly because I had never had any actual academic experience with them before) and I personally have an interest in Chinese history as well (it was the reason I learned Mandarin).

I probably took the most European history classes though, mostly because they were the most readily available, and because one of my favorite professors taught it. I also had three really awesome courses with one professor. The first was the history of zombies, which actually really covered from colonialism and the slave trade to post-911 media. Then there was the history of the cowboy and the western myth in cinema, which covered colonialization and cowboy culture across the Americas and lead straight to the modern ramifications. Besides though three though, I despised my North American focused courses.

What about you?

Sorry for the hiatus.

Since it's just a cc, I remember my classes.

American history i
American history II
Western civ I
Western civ II
World civ I
World civ II
Civil War
World War I
World War II
Modern Islamic history
20th century history

I suppose I like borderline prehistory such as pre-indo European Europe, the Indus Valley Civilization (the fact that it's called that makes me guess they haven't figured out the language) and global history post WWII.

My BA in History makes me want to say yes ... but my lack of job prospects makes me think no.

Hey, I'm days away from getting an AA in history! Bros!

Hi five!

History is my passion. I honestly got it because I had taken so many history courses for fun that it would only mean going to university for one extra year for a second degree, so I did it. It also augments me main degree well, and I have the option of getting a MA and working at a university. I was going to this semester (since I had a professor offer me a letter of recommendation and some mentoring) but I missed the registration and then me and the missus realized we couldn't continue our careers here so we decided to move across the country.

So what now?

What's your concentration?

Probably use my Journalism degree to get a boring salaried communications job for awhile to pay off some of my debt, then I'm not sure. My goal is to one day work in film or write novels, so probably work towards that. Hell, I'd even love to find some work as a foley artist, but for now, the main goal is to pay off some credit card/student debt and beef up my portfolio (I do some freelance work for game reviewing sites and have the equipment to do photography too).

My history degree is also auxiliary from my "natural science" degree which will be promoted to a BS in biology along with a BA in history eventually.

What's your favorite era and location? Do you like American, western, or global stuff?
