AJ may be the best to wait out the timer cause of her high composure so she doesnt get scared and give away her hiding spots easy.

i still plan to main deborah.
tiffany can be used as a looter
usually you want the faster characters to run into the buildings and gather supplies to set near the objectives so the stealthy repair characters can fix the phone or cars
but you can use tiffany as a stealthy alternative to that
gathering supplies for the other characters slower but safer than vanessa

so she does have her niche use
especially in an all stealth team

chad is basically only useful for hitting jason and running away like the coward he is
basically a protector role who is to scared of jason to do anything
so sucker punch and run
he has high luck like jenny so his weapons wont break
but he is always scared

tiffany does have high stamina and stealth so she isnt totally useless
she certainly provides a unique gameplay experience being a stealth character who is useless at repairs

all the male characters were based on real people who donated money to the game
while all the female characters were based on characters who were in the movies themselves

tiffany does look like the twins but wearing the shorts and pink top of a victim in the second movie

and deborah seems to be modeled a bit after the nerdy girl in the 7th movie
and vanessa seems to be based on julien from the 8th movie only gender swapped

actually that sounds interesting so long as they follow the traditional horror tropes only with super heroes

so sex = death and one innocent girl is the one to stop the killer

they also gave jason throwing knives in the real game so its even harder to outrun him
they added this cause in the beta good vanessa players were basically running circles around him
literally circles in one spot just to taunt him and run out the time

now you need to book it and in a zig zagg pattern or you are gonna get a knife to the back
which isnt an instant kill but injured and slows you

he can also set traps in the main game so he can trap people in cabins

since jason can kill you pretty much instantly once he catches you you do need a bit of a warning so you can try to escape while you can or hide
just giving him the ability to silence it is enough of a perk to tone it down
plus part 7 jason recharges his skills faster than the other jasons so its almost infinite time for him

whats the replay-ability gonna be like? it seems that there'd be a quick way to figure out the optimum way to survive / escape / kill within a few weeks and then it'd just come down to luck

jason can one shot kill you unless you have the pocket knife
and he knows where all the escape points are from the start so he can teleport to them to defend the areas when he thinks someone is going for them.

the maps are big but there are only 3 of them
so i assume the replay value depends on the jason
if you play often against bad jason players then its an easy escape
if you play against good jason players you need to earn your survival and makes it more tense

they got his original actor to do the tommy voice work

tommy is like an extra life
if you find the radio a dead character or an escaped character can come back as tommy who has 10 in all stats plus a shotgun with 1 bullet which will stun jason

What are the differences between the different Victims and different Jasons? Or is it all just cosmetic?

all jasons specialize in different things
part 2 and 3 can run but are easier to stun
part 7 can swim better than the others
also they can perform different special kills


the victims all have different stats which makes them better suited to different tasks while trying to escape

for example this is deborahs stats

Composure: 5/10
Luck: 3/10
Intelligence: 10/10
Speed: 4/10
Stamina: 3/10
Stealth 9/10
Strength: 1/10

she has high intelligence and stealth. meaning its easy for her to hide from jason and not be found
but she lacks the strength to stun him with weapons easily so she cant fend him off if he finds her
her intelligence means she can repair the phone and cars very easily and quickly
so her purpose is basically to hide then fix the broken things you need to escape.

she has middle of the road composer which helps keeps her fear down. if a character gets to scared they glow red when jason uses his sense ability making their location obvious so you want to keep your fear down


these are vanessa's stats


Composure: 3/10
Luck: 6/10
Intelligence: 2/10
Speed: 10/10
Stamina: 9/10
Stealth 1/10
Strength: 4/10

so her low composure and low stealth means that jason will pretty much always know where a vanessa player is. but her high speed and stamina mean she can run fast for long distances which means in a chase she has the best chance of getting away from jason

but her low intelligence means it takes her forever to repair anything and increases the odds of her screwing up. if you screw up jason is notified of your position so its not a good idea to try to repair anything with vanessa


what you do with her is run away from the other players to try to get jason to go after you and away from the steath characters who will be busy fixing things
she can also be used to quickly look around the maps for items you need to repair the phone, boat or car and set them near the objectives so the smarter characters can repair them without risking going out on their own to search for parts themselves.

Luck: 2/10
Intelligence: 6/10
Speed: 5/10
Stamina: 4/10
Stealth 3/10
Strength: 8/10

he doesnt scare easy and has a lot of strength so he has the best chance of breaking free of jasons grip even without the pocketknife
his purpose is mainly to protect the weaker character
run up and his jason with a weapon when he grabs another player since his high strength means he can stun jason more often than others
but his low luck means weapons are more likely to break when he uses them.
you can use high luck characters like you would adam but they tend to have lower strength so they dont stun jason as much. but they can force him to put others down with their hits.


those are the 3 main play styles each character can be used for.
stealth, runner or protector
each character kind of fits into one of those roles


the odd man out is tiffany who has great stealth but the worst intelligence meaning all she really can do it hide

But as a caster in a star ocean game she was pretty not great

Also it was weird that Audrey and mirage are mandatory characters yet both are clones of different mandatory characters

Audrey is just Sophie with a sword
And mirage is just cliff with boobs

I will say, I've always loved SO3, but recently everyone's sucking the game off as if it's the 2nd coming. I know SO5 is god awful, but half these people probably talked shit about it back in the day. At least you're keeping it real, lol.

It's the exact same as with Majora's Mask.

Star ocean 3 was good back in the day but its.combat didn't age well. It's worth it for nostalgia but if you missed out on it the first time you may not be able to get into it.

That's pretty neat. Seems like there's a lot of fan servicey detail in this game. Sorta like an indie, multiplayer Alien Isolation.

oh lots of the cabins are recreations of places in the film
like higgins lake has the house chris and her friends stayed at in the 3rd movie with the barn near it
both are near perfect recreations of the iconic locations

the arrow range from the first movie is at camp crystal lake map recreated as well

the cabin her head was in from the second movie spawns in one of two places on the map randomly
you can find her head and the sweater in the barn

when its worn it confuses jason making him unable to attack you for a minute or so because he thinks you are his mother

if you arent setting up the kill its basically a stall to give you a chance to escape but i believe the sweater disappears shortly after you use it once

but yeah him getting his mask torn off at the end is the norm for jason.
and he doesnt take it off willingly it has to be forced off by someone hitting him

I think it's worth $40... this is the sort of game I've wanted to play my entire life. What about makes it seem worth only 20 dollars?? There's ten different counselors, like 7 Jasons, 3 partially randomly generated maps with randomly generated items. Also the counselors are able to roll for perks that range from common to epic. All of that and the fact that you're playing with people seems like endless replayability to me.

no single player
there will be one patched in eventually but its going to a jason simulator rather than letting you play as someone trying to avoid jason

matches last 20 minutes with 6 people playing and 1 player being jason
the goal of the game is to survive and find a way to escape
killing jason is the hardest way to survive because jason is overpowered for a reason so encountering him is not easily survivable.

but the maps are large so you do have a chance of avoiding jason.

the ways to escape are


Phone the police

- find a fuse box
- repair the broken phone box
- phone police
- make it to the exit where the police show up after 5 minutes



thats the easiest way to survive. but its also the one jason is more likely to try to stop

you could also repair one of two cars
one car fits 2 people and the other fits 4 people

the steps to fix the cars are

-find the gas can
- find the car battery
- find the car keys
- fill the car with gas
- replace the car battery
- drive to safety



or you can take the boat

- find the fuel
- find the properly
- refill the boat
- install the propeller


those are the ways to win the game as a non jason player
or you could just evade jason for the entire 20 minute match which isnt easily done

booster is an optional boss
its actually really easy to fight him if you want to

when hiding behind the curtains and his minions are opening them just let them catch you 3 times
then you will fight him as a boss

he doesnt have a boss defeat animation though he just pops out of existence like a random encounter would
fighting him affects nothing

multiple enemies are not a problem for natalia she has insane ranger and can still cherry tap her way to victory no matter how many

all those spells are also dodgeable while remaining on the other side of the map
also when casting spells enemies leave themselves open to more attacks from her before she simple walks out fo the way


free run is broken in abyss and wasnt corrected until vesperia

You still have to do damage. Bosses are far less prone to staggering and can tank your hits to do plenty of damage. Enemies in groups (most encounters have multiple enemies) also aren't victims of Free Run, as you can't attack all of them at once.

shoot an arrow

rinse and repeat for the entire fight

to win without ever once being at risk of getting hit
