I remember having a conversation with someone last time (maybe seabass) where we realized our groups played super differently. | Epyo 01/27/17 5:58:39 PM #91 | I got deluxe love letter recently, but you only add the new cards when you have 5-8 players...and also apparently they make the game way too long, which makes sense, but I haven't had a chance to play it yet because if I have 5-8 players I probably want to play something else --- People who don't finish their sentences I'm a Team Fortress 2 superfan! | Epyo 01/26/17 9:48:08 PM #70 | Ticket to Ride IMHO plays much better when the players do not take it very seriously, and play quickly. It's tempting to think about what you're trying to do, and always try to look ahead and pick up the correct face up cards, and keep checking your ticket destinations over and over again...or you can just friggin' draw two and say GO, or friggin' build a route and say GO. You can play strategically, but why don't you just save that energy for a more strategic game? The fun in TTR comes from building. I think I wish it was much more random so that players would have the intuition that they are not supposed to take winning so seriously. I own many ticket to rides, and recently couldn't help but pick up Rails & Sails, and I reaaally like it. Having two decks and two types of pieces is just plain fun. I didn't expect to like it because my favorite maps are typically the shortest ones, and Rails & Sails is the longest for sure. But it is really fun how many boat cards have TWO boats, making it much easier to build longer segments. --- People who don't finish their sentences I'm a Team Fortress 2 superfan! Ask me anything! |
