Just saw alien covenant this morning and i really liked it but i've read that a lot of users on this site who saw it didn't like it, maybe most of 'em. I thought the beginning part was kinda slow and boring but at least halfway through it was really good. You don't even see any aliens until kinda far into the movie imo. And it's the goriest alien movie i've ever seen which is saying something. It really pushed that r rating. I kinda prefer R rated movies but i know the studios don't cause it usually means fewer bucks for them. And was anybody surprised at the end that the michael fassbender droid was really the bad one? I was not surprised at all. For sure this sets up a sequel. Not sure what it will be called though, maybe they'll just put a 2 after it.

redditt is the only one that i know of, i mean they got rid of yahoo chat years ago because of all the stupid shit that went on in there. So almost all the shit now is message boards no real chat sites iirc

Yes, I may have used the wrong letter when using a word, I also got warned for pointing out one of the rules specifically makes Allen look like a hypocrite.

yeah i've seen shit like that before, from some mods giving off the feeling that that dude allen is untouchable and everyone should worship at his shrine or something

i agree if there is a terrible user who is constantly making new accounts cause each one keeps getting suspended or something then after like 3 banned accounts they shouldn't be on here any more cause they're just troublemakers. In an ideal situation, don't know if it's possible to enforce that though.

Well the problem here is the mods can take swift action. However, over the course of 30 seconds that user is going to say to himself he's gonna say he'll say, or maybe a female, they'll say "ohhhh fuckk youu, i'll just make a new account", and before you god damn well know it the same person is multiplying. It's like Gremlins.

I kinda agree with you, don't know if you're black or a minority, but i'm not white and if you have had hateful epithets used against you by actual racists who hate you then maybe you would look at those words differently compared to somebody who hasn't had words like that used against them in a very hateful way.

yeah I kinda consider myself a fan of howard stern, don't know what your thoughts are on him, but i used to hear the n word on his show, usually it wasn't him directly saying the word though. But he does call other groups by derogatory words, maybe he thinks he can get away with those but not himself saying the n word. Anyway even if stern says those words i personally don't consider him a racist.

I personally think if it's gonna be used that's one of the least bad ways to use it, aside from actual historical usage. He wasn't directing it at anyone, using it insultingly, or even applying it to a time period beyond slavery... He was literally making a joke about a slave back in the slave days sooo lol.

It's still crass sure but I don't think it's that bad. If he said "I'm a house slave" instead it probably would've been more okay right? Compared to if someone talked about black people in modern times saying "These n-words on the streets blah blah blah", if they said "These slaves on the streets blah blah blah" it would still be a horrible thing to say. The meaning should count more than the word itself and the meaning was pretty harmless here

Yeah, it was a bitch. I was trying to get into the honors program at UF and back then they had a hard SAT cutoff. I was literally 10 points away from their requirement and they wouldn't let me in. so I took it again my senior year.
