Russia or patriotic Russians made attempts to hack things, influence the election, and so forth. But this isn't some horrible evil.

Countries attempting to influence each other is just fine. Why? Because not only is it reasonable for a country to try to influence another nation in order to get the best situation for themselves, but at the end of the day, by all rights a country like the USA SHOULD be able to carry on without much influence actually happening.

So really, why are people getting upset at Russia? But yeah. If there is any reason at all to be upset, then it would be only because we actually let ourselves be influenced by any attempts Russia/Russian supporters made to influence us. You know, assuming we did in fact allow ourselves to be influenced. And the blame for THAT can be put squarely on our government and media.
