I was on there like 15 years ago and I was having fun answering questions. Then I realized probably no one would want to date some guy who answered 500 questions in two days.

I love how the show sparked so much interest in the series again. I even reinstalled Fallout 76 and started a new character because I didn't give it the full appreciation I should have the first time I tried it out.

Facebook is actually pretty good for maintaining the odd social contact. I deleted my original account many years ago but decided to reopen it just to have another channel for communicating with people.

That sounds good to me, I like the Division series.

And the Final Fantasy games are always on sale.

What's the take on SW Outlaws?

Part of me is excited just because of the original Watch Dogs and Watch Dogs 2.

Yes, and I had to clean them for my teacher when I was a TA. Was the only time I went into the bathrooms in HS.

Hit the 3 hour mark, it's 10 PM, probably gonna call it a day for now. Did a couple of the main missions, the writing is nothing *too* remarkable and I'm confused by the different terms (there's Stardust and Star...something and Deviants and Deviations and Discords).

Also it definitely is not in a launch state. I realized your character has spoken lines but they only activate like 5% of the time.

And I was doing a mission to investigate this lost caravan of people, I found them, and then the game just launched into a boss fight with some giant obsidian dude with an even bigger minigun. But I had no idea where he came from or what his deal was or what he did to this caravan of people - they were frozen and golden not blasted up by a chain gun.

Ran into an annoying glitch where loot/XP/objective completion messages don't appear but I'm too lazy to reload.

Explored a little bit, found this abandoned little town area with a lot of supplies, activated some rift anchor thing that's used to open the "Monolith of Greed" (whatever that is >_>). Also found... some giant spider enemies. One was a big ass lightbulb with spider legs and it exploded near me but it was the most pathetic fizziest explosion I've ever seen in a game lol

I would also like to point out I am playing on Low to keep from frying my laptop. So I'm sure it looks better... on higher settings.

I screwed up and put the "territory terminal" (that marks your build area) too close to a small slope and I couldn't close the wall on that side so I had to build a foundation slightly higher than ground level so now I've got this ugly little wall sticking up higher than everything else.

I'm a little torn but am going to keep playing because I feel there is potential here.

The first 40ish minutes is *exactly* like Control. You're in this crazy facility, stuff is suspended in the air, there are portals you teleport through and the enemies are weird humans with spotlights for heads.

It feels very much like... New World, too, though. And there's a *lot* of crafting and resource gathering. It almost feels like the equivalent of a mobile game ad where they show a fun quirky dorky puzzle and you think "that looks fun" so you download it and the puzzle is the first two minutes and the rest is generic pay-to-win "strategy" builder.

Also the world is very full. Though I did join a high population server, but like once you get dropped in there you have to build your "territory" (sort of like a CAMP in FO76), and it feels like I'm in regular ass suburbia, everyone's got territory built up already lol.

Oh and the server glitched and I lost connection in build mode and then I got trapped in build mode and had to re-log.

Turn-based: XCOM games for sure.
RTS: I have a soft spot for Rise of Nations

Runescape, been playing off and on since it originally came out and I've dumped entire weekends on pointless inefficient grinds.

40% done. Apparently the demo was launched for the Steam Next fest which continues through June 16th. But you have to play 3 hours *today* specifically to get some special motorcycle skin...

Is anyone playing it? Just got home from work, downloading it to check it out. Gives off good SCP Foundation / Control / Secret World vibes but I don't know much else about it (besides open world survival lawl).

Maybe I should try that next time? I eat there fairly regularly but this thought never crossed my mind lol

I hated Fallout 4 because it was like Skyrim - an Action Adventure game without any role playing elements. Also stealth was broken for me (even maxed out enemies instantly locked on to my location), and the world was boring with too many copy-paste elements. And a lot of the mechanics were just bad. Crafting was mostly pointless, settlements were 98% pointless except for farming free bottle caps.

3 wasn't bad, but it didn't have a very tight story, either. It was very much an homage to classic sci-fi radio and movie shows.

New Vegas *did* have a coherent and focused story to get invested in.

if anyone cares my motivation for this topic is a combination of feeling over the past year as if I am somehow experiencing a sister universe, as well as hearing this Muse song on the radio with the lines "My life, you electrify my life / let's conspire to ignite" and very, very firmly believing I had heard that in a different song. And a hint of the New Twilight Zone episode where the guy wakes up to a world where people speak English but certain words have different meanings (like "dinosaur" instead of "lunch").

I loved it, but I was just a high school student so my standards were maybe lower? I had never played Silent Hill, just read a lot about it, but I thought for a video game movie it did a rather killer job.

New Vegas was a blast, but I couldn't bring myself to actually end it so my last save was just in New Vegas about to start the final mission.

Side note that for some reason I can't 100% the Fallout games, though I had no problem doing it with Oblivion and Skyrim. I did get 100% in the base FO4 but lost it with the release of new DLC.

There's something endearing about classic post-apocalyptic movies that modern movies tend to completely miss the mark on. Maybe it's the fact that a lot of older movies feel like they are focused on broad social commentary.

Anyway, topic reminded me of Soylent Green and now I want to rewatch that (don't have the stomach for another Planet of the Apes rewatch)

Your favorite X (breakfast, lunch and dinner food, color, movie, book, video game) does not exist.

Everything else exists, but it's just off. Music you've heard for decades sounds simultaneously fresh but also confusing, the lyrics are a little different and the key isn't what you're used to, and maybe a guitar solo is a little shorter and more radical than it used to be. Things aren't colored what they used to be, either - there are far fewer white and black cars on the road and more pink and green ones, for instance. Tree leaves are just a tinge bluer, and they stay orange when they fall off the trees. Cats have a gruffer meow and dogs have a more meowy bark.

That kind of stuff.

If Trump gets pardoned of any convictions, Ill actually find it hilarious. So much of his rhetoric perpetuates a narrative that hes a political pariah simply because they are colluding against him. So current (and hopefully future) convictions can prove through the judiciary that hes guilty, and pardons can prove that there was no political motivation.

Thats only if the convictions dont stop him though. If he was serving a year without parole or something and got pardoned, Id be pissed.

The absolutely antagonizing thing about it all is that no matter what happens, Trump and his supporters just come out with even stronger constitutions.

Like, say he was pardoned. Now they just say "Look, we told you it was all a political game the whole time and they had no evidence to do it and they're afraid of us which is why they're backing down".

I don't know why but I thought about one of those big creepy ass zombie x mothman x whatever it was things from the first stage of Nightmare Creatures.

Pretty sure over half the budget for that game was contracting Liam Neeson even though he only had like five lines in the whole thing.

I found a player-made patch that adds a difficulty slider. Now you still end up with a ton of enemy ships being spawned in the beginning of the level but the amount they produce afterwards can be adjusted at least.

"AI Revolution slowing down" is exactly what the AI wants you to think.

I naively and stupidly gave 98% of my SNES games to my uncle's girlfriend, and no one stopped me and I thought that was really annoying that I don't have them any more. I had some great ones, and some of the dumb ones (like that unicycle racing game).

Proton has a great VPN *and* you can use it for free with restrictions (you don't get access to the fastest servers and you're limited to servers in the US and IIRC Japan and the Netherlands). It is a legitimate company though.

Apparently at least part of my problem is a scaling difficulty mechanic - the larger your fleet, the larger the enemy feet, but sometimes it's a little *too* large and aggressive. Some people say if you sell all your ships at the end of a mission you'll be in a better spot...

Also found a mod that lets you just adjust the difficulty so I'm going to try that. I do want to beat the game, but can't really do it with infinite fighters and ships shrekking my stuff.

I love the idea of Honeworld but I never really got on with the 3D control.

It really seems broken, I don't think I've encountered a mission yet that *really* required using it though it is helpful for setting up multi-pronged surprise attacks which is... great for an initial surprise but then it becomes pointless

I had some struggles with Homeworld 1 Remastered but this takes the cake. On the third mission the enemy was just pumping out fighters non-stop from its one carrier to the point where I could barely keep up.

The AI is also pretty trash and likes to chase enemies really far away from everything else.

Was that the one about the friends who gather for dinner and some funky shit happens where they're like trapped in a twilight zone-esque hell with their doppelgaengers presumably from parallel universes?

Sad to see one of the OGs go like this. I have no idea what it was like in its final days, probably sucked just like Netscape after getting subsumed by AOL. But it was still a pioneer in the instant messaging era and I will miss it for that.

my steam account is worth over $4000, so it's very concerning to me that I would not be allowed to transfer it upon my death. especially since it's all digitial, so steam would not be losing anything other than hypothetical potential future sales.

I just checked and mine is $4581 with everything at its lowest possible value, $19,397 if everything were purchased today.
