You don't outright get penalized for stockpiling too much but you have a limited number of turns to actually use it, and most resources are just wasted if you haven't used them by the end of the game (aside from eggs, which do translate to points, though often aren't the best way to score). --- I fought the Trumble and the Trumble won.

A lot of the unions here don't do much beyond take a cut of your pay, and only seem interested in fighting for employees when it's a pay dispute and thus a win would mean more money in union fees. Not all of them, but a lot are like that. Kinda like a lottery ticket but you usually only win or lose a small amount instead of heaps. Don't put big bucks into them unless you know far better than I do regarding how they work.
