No one is saying that. What people are saying is that they are not the ones responsible for it. Yes, history had significant effects, but no one who you're arguing with in this topic is responsible for those effects or the actions that lead to them. Most weren't even alive at the time it happened. And as such, claiming they are colonizers, simply because they're the same color as people who actually were colonizers, is blatant racism on your part.

Literally zero reason to consider that one. In the absence of a discrete GPU, never pick Intel over AMD for gaming. (Even with a discrete GPU, AMD still wins, but Intel are at least viable.) Their integrated graphics are, while far better than they used to be, nowhere near AMD's level. Likewise for power efficiency, which isn't a concern in a desktop and maybe not even a laptop but is quite important in a handheld.

A Claw together with an eGPU might be more viable, if you don't mind being, y'kno, tied to the eGPU. But then you could get that same eGPU and use it on most of the AMD handhelds too (aside from the Steam Deck).

The Ally X is also releasing soon with substantial improvements to battery life and SD card management, the main hardware weaknesses it had compared to the Deck.

EDIT: Quick Google suggests the only RAM option will be 24GB. I mean... that's still a decent improvement over 16.

if worried about lives and time trials there's a certain level in crash 1 that will solve your life problem. it'll give plenty if have a certain gem on that level.

You don't lose lives in Time Trial mode.

I enjoyed the challenge of gem collecting in Crash 1 on PS1.

There was a level called Slippery Climb I believe that was brutal but felt so good when I got the gem. I vividly remember my heart beating out of my chest when I could see the stage end and there was just one more scientist throwing explosive potions in my way. I was confident I had gotten all the boxes and managed to do it all without dying. I think I stared at that scientist enemy for about ten minutes before I worked up the nerve to kill him and finished the level to get the last gem in the game. Great times!

The N Sane Trilogy adds time trial modes to Crash 1 and 2 levels (Crash 3 already had this even on PS1), so you get to do that with time pressure now. And if that's not enough, the remakes also add a DLC level that's based on Slippery Climb but like 50 times harder, Stormy Ascent. (Technically this level was on the disc in the PS1 version, but could only be accessed via gameshark or similar, and had a tendency to glitch / crash. Its bonus round is entirely original to the remakes though.) The gem for it isn't a colored one so you don't need a no-deaths run for the gem, but you still do for time trial mode. The one saving grace is the time requirements are extremely generous... not that that really matters when just completing the level without dying is insanely hard to achieve.

Huh. It's not required on the front in some states? That makes sense. Watched through Atlanta a while back and it kept catching my eye that a lot of vehicles didn't have front plates, but I assumed it was just part of the setting or possibly a filming thing in general (I don't watch a lot of live action) I hadn't noticed before.

I had another option, the Ayaneo 2, until the battery crapped out then I accidentally broke a critical cable (that replacements for aren't sold) while installing the new one.

Awesome device. It's a fair bit more powerful than the Steam Deck but not quite on par with the Legion Go or ROG Ally; spec wise, and real world tests in reviews seem to confirm this.

If I were getting a new one, I would rule out the Deck immediately. This is with the caveat that the reason for this is that the handheld would also be my main PC (docked when doing non-gaming stuff). Even without the extra steps involved in running Windows (or a normal Linux distro) on the Deck, the lower specs make it a poor deal here when the cost difference isn't that huge (I understand the difference is bigger in some places). Performance is somewhat a factor too, but in the absence of using it as a main PC, the Deck would at least be worth considering, though I'd still likely go for one of the others.

Between the Ally or the Go, I think I'd go with the Ally. The lower res screen will be better for battery life and lower resolution (especially when we're just talking 1080p vs 1440p) is hardly a problem at sizes that small. Go also seems to overdo it a bit with the gimmicky stuff; I could see the back buttons in particular getting in the way.

Overall though, I'm gonna hold off buying a new one until there's an option locally available with 32GB RAM. People who intend to use it solely for gaming / light tasks (streaming videos etc) will be perfectly fine with the 16GB in current models.

That issue was because of the game in question being Ubisoft rather than Steam and being region locked.

This one is a spare code from a bundle, for Steam, so shouldn't be an issue.
