A little disappointed to hear that the game will only take place on one planet. Can't show off a cool Porsche spaceship and then tell me I won't get to fly it anywhere. But I'll reserve my judgements until we see more gameplay on the ground.

All the people that shit on Starfield for being a "generic" space game will all of a sudden fall in love with this one.
People don't shit on Starfield for being generic. People shit on Starfield because it's a space game that has tons of empty, lifeless planets and copy/pasted building interiors. Like seriously, if it's not one of the few hub planets, you'll see the same 2 or 3 building interior layouts over and over again. And for a game that hyped up the ability to explore space, the space travel is mostly relegated to fast travel loading screens. You couldn't manually travel between planets or solar systems. It was majorly disappointing.

So Intergalactic will absolutely get praised if it has more going for it than Starfield did.

Not even close. Lightning had so much versatility in Lightning Returns. Switching the schema she was in drastically affected her playstyle. One thing I hope they fix with Borderlands 4 is their insistence on making you play through the story on every character. They need to do like Diablo. You beat the story on one character and then every other character on that account can jump straight into the post game free roam.

And also stop locking the higher difficulties behind playthroughs. Beat the entire story on normal to unlock True Vault Hunter difficulty. Then beat the entire story on True Vault Hunt to unlock Ultimate Vault Hunter. And that shit is per character too. Have to manually unlock Ultimate Vault Hunter, for each character.

The fun of Borderlands is the loot, not playing through the story a million times.
