That "retrieve currency on death" mechanic is pretty blatantly Dark Souls, though...

The devs had never played Dark Souls when they made the game.

Having finished Infinite Wealth, the NG+ thing is pretty terrible just because there's one achievement that's deliberately unfeasible without it. And two jobs being carved out as launch DLC is also annoying. Great game though.

Also I think with IW most of the MTX are things that are also obviously available in-game, or bonus content (except for NG+). With DD2 it seems a lot of people had a kneejerk reaction, thinking the MTX won't be available at all otherwise.

Dark Souls itself is a Metroidvania, so it's not just the 2D ones.

Theres her video for reference. I havent gone through all the comments yet, but so far I havent seen anything egregious. Theres less than 1,000, so it shouldnt be hard to find. Just some light this wont age well stuff mixed with complaints about microtransactions not being mentioned. Most comments are talking about how pretty she is (which is definitely true) and how good the video is. Im on mobile so I cant tell if its being bombed with dislikes.

Yeah, there's been a lot of hate regarding her, Asmongold, and other streamers having official pawns in the game. I think I've seen more directed at Asmongold than the others.

The difference between this and all the other games Capcom did this with us that this one runs like booty. It's a jumping off point to draw ire, compared to all the other games that had it that ran perfectly (I don't know about MHW, forgive me if that one had problems).

If RE4 was having framerate issues, I guarantee buying Golden Tickets would have SIDDENLY become an enormous problem.

And then we spent all last night exploring Shulva, and man it was amazing! Its such a labyrinth of traps and puzzles and none stop enemies. Like a whole ass dungeon never before seen in fromsouls and the likes of which we havent seen since

And its funny because on one hand dark souls ii has all this amazing content, but on the other its blocked by convoluted bullshit like soul memory, and that just sums up this game so perfectly
