When you PM me the offers, I want you to include a header that says "[Your Team]'s Offers" so that I don't accidentally open them. In addition to being the commissioner, I am also in charge of the Pumpkins (and I might take the initiative for another team or two), so there could be some conflict of interest. Thus, the best way around that is for me to not open those PMs until the deadline for the current phase has passed. I have default PM settings, so you can tell if and when I open a PM of yours. Out of fairness, I will publicly reveal my offers once the deadline has passed and before I open up any PMs.

As a reminder to people, any time a player does not sign an offer at the conclusion of a round, you have the option to remove and resubmit a new offer or just pull the offer altogether if want to increase your chances of signing a player or don't want to risk it.

Burnout Paradise Remastered (XB1)

It's still good, but I'm less forgiving of the lack of basic tools that open world games have and also for its lack of variety to necessity to do the same exact event multiple times.

KCF has beaten Burnout Paradise

For the record, I consider it beaten at the Burnout license, and the game effectively considers it such. The Burnout Elite license is for the completionist.

I was a teenager when I first played this, but now that I am in my 30s and have even more gaming experience and seen more in the evolution of gaming and game design, a lot of the "little things" bug me quite a bit here on a replay.

I love open world games, especially non-linear, as I like among many things the freedom and the sense of crafting my own unique path even if the conclusion is the same for everyone. I don't think that Criterion handled the open-world as well as they should have. There's no waypoint outside of the events (and directions while playing an event are not good), no way to fast travel, no way to easily swap vehicles (I basically had to save then load game to take me to a junkyard), and they reuse the same events, which is okay for ones that ask you to do a trick score target or take down vehicles, but for the racing and the marked man (where you have to reach a target location without being taken down too much), those got stale pretty quick, especially if they took you to the more rural western side of the city where the variance shrinks even more.

Overall, the events and the driving itself are still good. Events are at a crisp 2-3 minutes in length, they never have a dull moment as the clock is ticking or people are out to do you harm. They could have just added more of a variety of events and specifics within each event and also change up the progression so that you aren't doing the same exact event multiple times.

I finally got back to playing Burnout Paradise. I kind of forgot how many quality of life stuff weren't present in this game (path guiding/GPS, fast travel to junk yards or some easier way to swap cars, mini map expansion that doesn't require going into a menu, etc...). There's also so many prolonged, unnecessary transitions that I assume were actually loading screens in the original that I'm surprised that a remaster doesn't eliminate.

Anyway, the point is, I just spent time uncovering all the events on the map so that now I can focus 100% on completing events for the remainder of the game. I'm about to get my B license.

At least I can take solace that if I had made it to this week, I was probably going to take the Ravens.
