I stopped playing Kakarot after I platinumed it. Absolutely loved it. When the first DLC came out (Beerus, I believe), I didnt particular care enough to go back and relearn the mechanics. Same with most of the subsequent DLCs, although the 23rd Budokai stuff really really really really tempted me.

At this point, it feels like there is enough DLC to almost constitute an entirely 2nd game. I may need to just give Kakarot a 2nd playthrough and plow through all of the DLC at the end.

Glad they made it, it was overall fun (especially for the cheap pop moments, like the revealing of SSJ3 Vegeta and SSJ4 Goku), but at the same time, it was frustrating to see the inconsistencies. The levels of Super Saiyan dont appear to have much meaning at this point, as they were largely interchangeable. At the end, the writers seemed to completely forget that Dende can heal people, as Vegeta couldnt even go Super Saiyan in the final battle due to how
drained he was, as Dende stands 10 feet away.

And I miss how back in DB/DBZ, the battles would flow, so you could see how one attack worked and gave someone an advantage, and how the opponent would counter it. Like in Goku v Vegeta, we have a feeling that Goku is at a disadvantage to Vegeta at the onset, and it is immediately confirmed as Vegeta is toying with him. From there

  • Goku uses Kaioken - something that we just saw one shot Nappa, but after an initial attack from Goku, Vegeta has the upper hand.
  • Goku uses Kaioken x2. Ok, this is new Goku can go even stronger with this move? Nice. But shockingly, Goku still gets thwarted by Vegeta. How strong is this guy?
  • Goku does a Kaioken x3, as Kaio panics about how Goku cannot handle this. We havent seen yet what the drawbacks are from overexerting Kaioken, but we also see that Vegeta is suddenly severely outclassed. And we also see Goku start to stagger himself, as it becomes too much for him.
And so on. We see the battle flow, as the advantage goes back and forth, and we get an idea of how strong each fighter is. Is Daima, there was very little of this. It was mostly just lightning paced fighting with (admittedly) gorgeous animation, but it was all sizzle and all stale. Gomah initially is matched by base adult Vegeta, but starts to catch up. Then Vegeta goes SSJ. If Gomah could barely match base Vegeta, then this should be nothing for Vegeta. But again, it soon becomes even. Veget eventually goes SSJ3, and starts to wipe the floor with Gomah. Keep in mind, SSJ3 is seemingly a 400x multiplier, and Gomah previously was losing to base Vegeta, but then he catches up again. And others occasionally join the fray, others who are significantly weaker than SSJ3 Vegeta, and they are able to trade blows with Gomah for stretches, before being rebuffed. Hell, even at the very end, SSJ4 Goku is having his way with Gomah, but then Gomah just seemingly catches up, as others join in to help Goku.

Stuff like that was just frustrating to me. Yeah, I may be over analyzing things, but it is still frustrating to me. Overall though, Im happy they made it.

Sorry for the wall of text.

Huh. Youd think theyd be aware of that. Hell, they must be aware of that. And the best way to advertise for them would simply be to make it possible for them to be seen.

I noticed recently that if I text a BlueSky link to a friend, it simply comes up as just a link to the BlueSky page without any details of what is in the link - the recipient needs to click it to read it. Whereas Twitter and YouTube generate the content within the text message. The recipient immediately sees the tweet, or is able to just click play on the YouTube video. Guessing that this is something similar as well.

I have zero understanding of stuff like this. So is this a problem on BlueSkys side that would be an issue with embedding on most sites? And is it something kinda basic that they should be on top of by now?

Take the 20 seconds to complete the petition that adds your support for embedding BlueSky. Per DToast, they just need support to show the higher ups that this is a demanded item from active members on the site.

Regarding the ability to embed BlueSky links, it looks like it is just a petition thing - prove that people want it be getting people to show their support. Lame, yes but if itll get it to work, then so be it. And it just takes like 20 seconds to complete.

It blew my mind, yes. But I didnt think it was the peak of gaming. The SNES seemed to blow the NES out of the water. The N64 brought about an entirely new perspective on gaming. So I knew that wed see bigger and better things.

But as for OoT, the game seemed so massive and immersive. Whereas a game like Mario 64 felt like a hub with multiple separate small worlds, OoT felt like a sprawling interconnected world. And while prior Zelda games had that sprawling world, the over-the-shoulder perspective made me feel like I was much more a part of it, as opposed to looking down at it. I had definitely never played anything like it.

Metal Gear Solid came out right around the same time, and I wouldnt play it until Twin Snakes. Im guessing that while not over-the-shoulder, MGS gave first time players in 1998 a lot of the same vibes.

They did increase the odds in the Pixel Remaster. Same with getting the Pink Tail, which had a 1/64 drop rate from an enemy with a 1/64 encounter rate in the original versions.

The only completion stuff that sucks in FFV from what I recall was Gau's and to a lesser extent Strago and Mog if you permanently miss some lore/dances.

Everything else is fine.

I just beat FFVI like 2 weeks ago while going for the platinum trophy. Id beaten the game multiple times, but Id never gone for as many of the completionist criteria as I had this time.

And at the end of the game, I apparently missed a treasure chest. I had multiple saves throughout the game, so I went back to check my progress. On the floating continent in the WoB, I had all treasure chests. After beating the game in the WoR, I had all treasure chests, so I was confused as to what in the world I coulda missed.

After some research, I believe that what I missed was a chest at the Magitek Facility that only even shows up as being collectible for like 1-3 screens before being removed from your counter. Apparently, it is only obtainable after Celes saves the party but before Cid puts you on the mine cart. And it isnt like you can just load up a save near that part of the game, get that treasure and be done the trophy only triggers if you have obtained every treasure in a single playthrough, meaning I woulda needed to play the entire game from that point and collect every treasure going forward again.

I wasnt pleased. Not worth it.

Completionism ruins games.

You get nothing special for doing it in FF6 besides recruiting all the characters for the complete ending.

Just doing the various quests in the WoR adds to the game, IMO. It helps flesh out the characters and the world. That aspect of completing a game is fine.

Now completing the game as in going to the extent of getting every rage for Gau? Fuck that.

FF is my favorite game series, but FF8 is my least favorite FF game. I dislike most of the characters, the plot, and the game mechanics.

With that said, disc 1 is fantastic. Problem is that the game drives off a cliff shortly afterwards, and gets worse as it progresses. I remember in my first playthrough right when it came out, absolutely loving it. And then in disc 2, just having this slow realization of I dont like this anymore.

Oh, and I dont care for the card game, especially when the rules start interchanging. But the soundtrack is fantastic.
