Pretty much how I got off the drinks too, albeit a much faster change. Went from drunk every day to hardly ever drink in the space of about a month, and yeah, no real reason besides just not feeling like drinking anymore.
Yeah. I say it didnt "blow up". Truthfully. I was only at a level of addiction where, when it was starting to get bad, I could pull back enough to keep my life together, then pick it back up. But this is the first time I've gone cold turkey on it.

And now I realize, I DO know the initial reason I stopped: Money. Been trying to save it. But I am realizing now stopping drinking has actually been a bigger change for me than saving money has been, even though that was the cause.

It was opposite of the poll for me. I grew up in a secular household where we did NOT talk about church or God, essentially agnostic. I became (I considered myself) a staunch atheist in high school and college. Then I became a believer in God at age 25.

Brother, don't get into the weeds on here. Arguing will never make a difference. We don't have to defend our belief. When someone asks me questions like these, my answer is always "God is good." That's what I have faith in, that He is good. I may not understand everything in the bible, but I know He's good.

Idk, MAYBE I had a month or two in my college days, 18 - 21. But for the most part I remember toking on the weekends or at least drinking regularly since I was 17. Smoked weed for over a decade straight. WHen I quit that last year, I substituted it with alchohol.

Then a month ago, I just didnt feel like drinking. It wasnt really something I was thinking to make an effort about. Now I have gotten the urge every few days, and I'm not actively making an effort to not drink, but it's kind of fun game to see how long I can go completely sober.

So, idk, this isnt some dramatic thing where it got really bad and blew up where I had to make a change. More just like.... it was a steady element in my life where the urge very suddenly went away. I would say I was addicted, but I wasnt drinking EVERY night.

Yeah, unlike having just a daily routine there were weekly or monthly aspects coded into the behavior of NPCs. But since most of them weren't tagged as Essential it was easy for them to die when traveling in the wilderness. E.g. you'd be walking through some grasslands and stumble onto the body of a Khajiit courier.

Goblins also endlessly fought wars over their Totem Staff items. You could trigger an Everquest style train by grabbing a Totem and taking it to some place you wanted to get attacked.
Yes. Or surprisingly, at least in certain dungeons, there would even be random adventurers going in and fighting stuff. Though they were pretty rare if I remember, I only saw that a few times across many play throughs.

Oblivion had it's moments.

There was this one time, I accepted an assassination quest from the dark brotherhood, but you had to go to this obscure location out in the country to get it.

I accepted the quest, and when I did it put a marker on my hit. I look over, and right across the river, like 40 feet away, my target is walking on the road nearby. I thought the quest just went that way, until upon replays I realized that character would travel ALL OVER the map, and I just happen to get really really lucky in that instance that he happened to be RIGHT BY ME when I accepted the hit.

I'm a little sad because I had an extra role in Killers. I knew it wouldn't beat Oppenheimer but I was certain Lily Gladstone had Best Actress in the bag. If I had to guess, some of the voters probably considered it more of a "supporting" performance rather than lead. They probably should have gone for that nomination in retrospect.

You can never know that if you had it done to you as a baby.

What I do know is guys who have made the choice to have it done as an adult (some for personal reasons, and some out of pressure from partners). They say it is not as pleasurable. Which makes sense, there's less nerves with it gone, less sensitivity, not to mention how it helps in sex aside from outright pleasure.

It's maming the child. As far as concerns over hygeine, yes, your child like any other person needs to be hygenic in their life to stay healthy. Any stories of problems with "cleanliness" down there resulting in infections/diseases is a result of people who DO NOT WASH there AT ALL.

You'll be gimping your son's sex life in adulthood. It's there for a reason.
Zonbei posted...
I mean. If you washed your dick and didnt pull the foreskin back and wash under it, (I know its not really under but you know what I mean), then youre not really washing it. Whereas that extra bit of attention isnt necessary when youre circumcised.
You describe this as if it is incredibly difficult. What you're talking about literally takes two seconds and is something you learn very quickly growing up as you bathe yourself. You NOTICE if it's not clean, like any other part of your body.

Animation has become worse, not better.

That goes for the art of film in general. The silent era.... thousands and thousands of extras, ENOURMOUS sets that still go unrivaled, and insane stunts...... There's been some great films after the 1920s, but to be honest none go as far as they did in that early era.

Now, these early anime studios you're talking about (well, earlier) , and these old film studios I'm talking about..... the working conditions were much harder. Those anime studios were sweatshops..... no ac, endless hours hunched over, years of back problems and arthritis...... The old films.... someone gets seriously hurt or mamed in a stunt, or gets trampled by the crowd in one of the old epics from the 1910s...... you didnt get an insurance policy that would cover you to not work for a year.

But the art.... the art was much better. It seems there is something to say about creation under pressure.

We won't get either of these again, so it's best to cherish the ones we have. The ones people broke their backs and died for.

Let's just say it's something ambiguous enough that you can't tell how impactful it is, you have to go with your gut. It might be something that lasts a short while, but has the potential to last a long time. Could be a conflict or health event, but it's something that will make Trump look even more foolish or evil or terrible and guarantee his loss.

For example, I think it can be unanimously agreed that the pandemic occurring during the last election year made Trump look even worse. Now in my opinion, he still would have lost, but I think we can all agree his handling of it hurt him in the election.

If you had the choice of stopping such a disaster, whatever kind, but said disaster would be something like that which would make Trump look terrible and all but seal his fate in losing the election, what would you do?

In this hypothetical, if the disaster doesn't occur Trump wins the election narrowly. Let's just say Biden has a scandal where he is going to lose unless this event occurs.

Convincing others to not vote is a bad faith practice that has generational consequences. If you want democrats to run things for a while, here's a brilliant suggestion: vote Democrat.

And if you want the GOP to succeed, convince your local lawmakers and congress people to drop the culture war bullshit that has infected your party and focus on the needs of your community.
Well, to be honest I dont care who runs things, the more important principle to me is that of not participating in that way. So voting Dem or republican still wouldnt make sense.

Now, voting Dem to beat the conservatives down to shake them out of their systemic faith? Tempting but that sits even worse than not voting

Ah right so this topic was made to be pedantic and nuanced at the people accusing you of being a Trump supporter.
Well moreso just to get that part out of the way so I can have real discussions. When I bring up my viewpoint on something like voting, I get lumped in with Trump voters. When I deny that, I get "huhuh yeah right buddy, we know you really are a Trump supporter". They just call me a liar as if I'm trying to dance around being a Trump supporter (when I really wasnt a fan lmao) And the conversation goes no where anyway. So..... whats the point in presenting myself as otherwise? I might as well be a supporter to prevent that. Doing it this way, that will no longer be an issue. I'm just an oddball Trump supporter that doesnt actually support that much of what he does and doesnt vote for him and tries to convince conservatives to not vote for him.

But yeah, Im a trump supporter.
