So glad they evicted Adrian; such a waste of a casting spot.It's easy to see why Adrian was cast, but he put none of that energy into entertaining us. Sometimes you think you hit dynamite and then you get a dud. This describes more than just Adrian, too. Morgan, Zach, and Katherine also fall into this category (so far). It's also astounding how they brought Rachel in to kick the hornets nest and she's been pretty quiet since Zae got the boot. Lauren was a far more entertaining, albeit frustratingly so, HoH than the episodes indicated. And I'm never going to say she's a dud because she isn't. Lauren could make a big move with a backdoor (probably regardless of who wins veto), but I think the Blockbuster is scaring her. People don't want to put up someone who could win that, come back, and be gunning for them next week, at least until they have to. And once another pawn or two is gone, that's when they'll have to make more risky nominations. That's why this is a good twist. It can help get rid of pawns early and make things exciting after a few weeks. This is such a weird season though. There don't seem to be big alliances, just pairs and trios. Lauren could have smelled a rat and put up Mickey, Morgan, and Ashley at the last minute and we would have seen Mickey kicking herself for not using the usurper power. As y'all know, I adore Lauren - a younger me would've wanted to be with her - and production clearly adores her too. In reality, she didn't look as good as this episode made her look - she was emotionally distraught over these nominations, especially putting Will up. Will was LIVID and stormed off after the nomination ceremony. But they want us to legit like them both, so that's why it's edited the way it is. I still like Lauren despite her "dark side" showing up. She's only 22 y/o, so this is completely understandable. It was hard to watch some of the clips from the feeds because I just wanted to hug her. Honestly, she reminds me a lot of my OC Rayleigh - a lot smarter than she looks, really pretty, and everybody loves her because she's so kind... and yet Rayleigh can get talked into doing things she knows she shouldn't to please other people. They look a lot alike, too (hence why I want to see Lauren in a baseball hat tbh, since that's Rayleigh's thing). I expect Lauren will be around until jury if Grodner has any say about it. She was cast to be the superfans' dream girl and was an instant yes in the application process. This is why she had a 0% chance of being the Mastermind Accomplice (Taran is an idiot for thinking she was) and why I don't see her going anywhere any time soon, even if her enemies do put her on the block. Did find the Liz/Julia nonsense HOH pretty amusing. Even Lauren couldn't help but smile at how funny it was. --- Help control the pet population. Have your pets spayed or neutered! Having someone to hate - and having that person have that despair build up inside them - is truly epic. I don't think I worded my last post correctly. I love having someone to dislike and it's even better when they get owned. Even Jimmy's own allies are questioning him! He'll be gone before jury. Tonight's episode, however, was pretty blah. I figured that Adrian was winning the comp the moment I saw it, because the chess whiz is obviously gonna be good at puzzles. And then I knew Amy was leaving the moment Rachel toed the line to vote with The House. The next thing I was looking for was to see if Amy confessed to her crimes. She did not. The GOOD stuff was pretty limited. Lauren admitting to playing the middle and not standing out. In Survivor, that would be "winner content" - but this is BB, and it's nowhere near over. And then Julie's "lemon drop" joke was EASILY one of her best moments ever. I think Jerry O'Connell substitute hosting last year and landing a couple jokes got the CBS top brass to ask Julie if she could do the same. The Mastermind gave Amy an actual goodbye message, too, and that was also fantastic. Not sure what to make of this Derrick and Taylor talk show, but I will NEVER complain about more Taylor Hale so there is that. I enjoyed Jimmy a LOT here because watching the despair build up in him as his HOH suddenly became more and more about getting powers flushed instead of getting out anyone threatening to him, and now he has a lot of blood on his hands. Keanu is socially clueless - like, HELLOOOO? Did you not realize that the "highlights" you were mentioning to Rachel were when others clowned on her? You could say "Yeah, when you came back and that Regan guy was calling you a conniving bitch and YOU LET HIM HAVE IT! He so deserved that. I love how you don't hold back when people do that." and she'd be happier, as if the highlight to you was her owning him. But Keanu essentially said "I don't like you, Rachel, and I love it when others shit on you" and thought that was how to foster a relationship with her. He also said he was going to send everyone packing and now wonders why nobody wants to be friends with him except maybe Vince. This cast has a lot of drama and quite a few egos gunning for each other, but only a handful of people who know what they're doing - mostly the women. Folks like Mickey, Lauren, Katherine, and Ava are on nobody's radar, and that's a smart strategy if you're in a cast with a lot of people gunning for each other. Don't stand out until you need to. Work on relationships and eventually forge alliances with the right people. Will should be in this group too but he's on the block now, so he's now out in the open. Adrian's mistake was building comps in his backyard and making it impossible to hide how much of a gamer he is. --- Help control the pet population. Have your pets spayed or neutered! The best part was Will losing it over ONE vote and not knowing who it was. The whisper stuff was fun, but... these people should really shut up about their powers. Some are better at this kind of thing than others... Lauren, who I adore (as you know), is keeping her trap SHUT. She's letting people gun for each other since she knows how this game works. I do wanna see more of her than we have, but since she's not really a part of any strategy or drama, I get why we haven't. I know she's too young for me, but she checks pretty much every box for what I'm attracted to. (She just needs to wear hats more often, because... yeah, I have a hat fetish. Sue me. Her face is perfect for a baseball cap, though...) We didn't see much of Jimmy's HOHitis but given the way he dressed for the nominations and addressed Keanu, it's certainly looking like he has it. I like having someone to hate, as you know, but I hope he has a hilarious comeuppance sooner as opposed to later. As for the powers... I think Keanu and Kelley's are fine. Mickey's is over the top, and I think the dethroned HOH should get two guesses (the person with the power gets immunity for the week if it's the second guess). Pokemon is the biggest lock for this, however - you can command said monsters to fight others, and the threats of death are very low and usually self-inflicted. Animal Crossing is as peaceful as a game world gets. The Sims is basically our world but simplified, which I think helps its case (even if some players do shitty things for fun). The last one was tough but I thought that the Mushroom Kingdom doesn't have many actually threatening monsters and is pretty lively despite that. Zelda was not a consideration for me. With Jimmy Kimmel supposedly not renewing his contract after next year, there's a big possibility that Jimmy Fallon stands alone soon as he's scheduled to run The Tonight Show until 2028Which sucks because Fallon is the only one of those three who isn't funny. Similar to Colbert, he was way better on SNL, particularly with his impressions. Colbert is at least funny, just not as good as he was on his own show. Fallon is good as a host, but he doesn't do much to make me laugh. (And before you ask, I literally just watched a clip of him interviewing Weird Al.) I do agree that late night talk shows are a dying breed. The internet did indeed kill them. It's too easy to find an unfiltered interview with somebody now. --- Help control the pet population. I wish Zae had stayed around just to rustle Rachel's feathers some more but also get that this was a big reason why he was evicted. Kelley likely would have gone had she not won Blockbuster. Very few people were happy about that outcome. She has literally no filter and none of them (except Vince) seem to like her much because of that. It would have been a funny outcome, but the chaos of what we got was even better. There are other times I've picked the "bad" option because it's my third time through the game and I wanna see where it takes me... but I don't have that kind of time for gaming anymore. --- Help control the pet population.
