Maybe Cody could make it his goal to defeat every active former Intercontinental Champion during this reign.

We can cross off Zeke and JoMo and Booker as done. Just a few dozen to go! <_<

YOu know I think itd be funny if Cody started defending the thing against more and more random legends as a part of his " bringing the title back to its former glory"

The pity is that all of your famous IC title holders are dead or crazy.

Maybe he can cut a promo on how he is better than Mr.Perfect and feud McGillicutty?

It can still be done!

Road Dogg is right there, Godfather is still around, Marty Jannetty will take a booking, RVD might be available soon...

There are enough still out there. <_<

Speaking of stable titles, today at long last Cody Rhodes has matched Jeff Hardy's '07-'08 IC Title reign, so as of tonight he will have the 19th-longest Intercontinental Title reign of all time, and the longest in 7 years.

The gap from 20 to 19 was a long one, but now the movement up the list comes much quicker. There won't be another big pause on Cody's ascension into immortality until he gets to 5th.

From JR's latest blog:

CM Punk dominated Miz more than the scoreboard perhaps indicated.

That's an awesome way to describe what happened in that match without completely exposing the business. Wake the **** up Miz.

Do the IC and US titles need more focus and to be featured more? If you ask the question then, to you, the answer is yes. I personally agree that both these respected titles could use some shine. Both their champions are excellent and are expected to be a significant part of WWE's future...Rhodes and Ziggler.

I think you just unintentionally said everything that needed to be said there, Jim. <______<

LOL then he went back and corrected it.

- Word is that WWE has decided to put the Brodus Clay "Funkasaurus" gimmick on hold for now. While Clay was getting a positive reaction, the feeling is that Clay's wrestling was not where it needed to be to be on WWE TV. Clay had a match on Smackdown a few weeks ago with Heath Slater, which was cut from the show. It was then that the call was made that Clay needed to improve his in ring skills.

D'oh!

CONSPIRACY THEORIST ALERT

Randy recently spoke out against wrestling with concussions and even advocated mandatory time off for everyone on the roster every year.

Maybe Vince didn't want to hear that so this is purely a kayfabe injury meant to penalize him a PPV payday for daring to speak out of turn. <_<

Current male Superstars who have never had a PPV match:
Trent Barreta
Titus O'Neil
Percy Watson
Johnny Curtis
Derrick Bateman

Poor Trent has been around since the dying months of ECW and still hasn't ever cracked a PPV.

I think one of the stranger notes though is that Yoshi Tatsu has only been in 2 Royal Rumbles (2010 and 2011) and hasn't had any other PPV matches ever.

He even won the pre-WM 26 Battle Royal!

Yeah but Reks still only has three.

Bragging Rights 2010 on Team SmackDown
Survivor Series 2010 on Team Del Rio
Royal Rumble 2011 entrant

JTG has had more but I'm not about to go back and count all the Cryme Tyme PPV matches.

Alex Riley has had just as many as Zack:
2011 Royal Rumble entrant
2011 Capitol Punishment vs. Miz
2011 Money in the Bank in the Raw MitB match
2011 Night of Champions US Title match vs. Dolph (c), Swagger, and JoMo
2012 Royal Rumble entrant

Throw in the fact that he was BASICALLY a participant in the Over the Limit main event, just not officially, and he tops Ryder in a way.

Jakyl Fun Fact

Zack Ryder in his entire career has only had 5 PPV matches, and two of those were Royal Rumbles.

1.) Ryder/Hawkins won the WWE Tag Titles at the 2008 Great American Bash in a four-way match vs. Miz/Morrison (c), Finlay/Hornswoggle, and Jesse/Festus.
2.) He entered the 2010 Royal Rumble
3.) He entered the 2011 Royal Rumble
4.) He lost a US Title match vs. Dolph Ziggler at Vengeance 2011
5.) He defeated Dolph Ziggler for the US Title at TLC 2011

For how super-exposed he's gotten over the last few months, it's kinda odd that this is his entire PPV resume.

(On a side note, #1 is still to this day Curt Hawkins's only PPV match period)

Yeah, for as much as they are really torturing Ryder fans, 1 year ago he hadn't even posted the first episode of ZTLIS yet (just a few days away!), so he's still a lot better off than he was at this point in 2011.

But yeah, he's worse off now than he has been at any point since...August? That's when he got bumped up from Superstars regular/Raw background cameos to Raw/SD comedy regular.

What counts as a debut?

Kharma "debuted" in 2011 but didn't actually have a match until the 2012 Rumble.

Also, do old matches as jobbers count? Bryan Danielson worked some Velocity matches in 2002/2003.

I'll just go by first match as Superstars on the actual roster.

2011 is super-easy:
Mason Ryan, Sin Cara, Hunico, Epico, Jinder Mahal

that's it. Also Ricardo Rodriguez had his first WWE match in 2011 if you're counting him.

2010 has assloads of people thanks to NXT

NXT1
Wade Barrett, Daniel Bryan, David Otunga, Heath Slater, Justin Gabriel, Skip Sheffield, Darren Young, Michael Tarver

NXT2
Kaval, Michael McGillicutty, Alex Riley, Husky Harris, Lucky Cannon, Titus O'Neil, Percy Watson, Eli Cottonwood

NXT3
Kaitlyn, AJ, Naomi, Maxine, Jamie Keyes, Aksana

NXT4
Johnny Curtis, Brodus Clay, Derrick Bateman, Conor O'Brien, Jacob Novak, Byron Saxton

Other
Alberto Del Rio, Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, Tamina

Pretty sure that covers it.
