Why was polygamy ever a part of the Church's beliefs? It was never practised by the Jews, was never mentioned by Jesus or anywhere else in the Bible. So why was it a major doctrine in the early Mormon church, only to be completely abandoned after a relatively short period of time?

We have enough Helium-3 here for research purposes. Fusion reactors of all types face significant engineering hurdles that need to be overcome before they can be commercially viable. There's a reason it's become a running joke that fusion technology is always "forty years away".

You underestimate just how amazing Helium-3 is. I mean, there is literally enough on the moon to supply energy for the entire Earth for a thousand years at current consumption levels. Even considering inevitable increases in energy consumption, that is a s***ton of energy. Plus, despite requiring nuclear technology, it is 100% safe and environmentally clean. Sadly, we don't have access to the proper reactors to use it yet.

That's quite a drawback, isn't it. <_< I'm all for expanding NASA's budget, but let's be realistic here. Helium-3 isn't something we can use in the near future as a justification to do so.

That picture and the statistics it claims come from SM. Unless someone can show me official statistics from a later source that agree with those, this isn't a case of Japanese people not understanding weight. It's inconsistency in her portrayal between the games.

There are lots of people that understand the real definition of evolution and still don't believe in it. Yes, there are people that confuse abiogenesis with evolution but by no means does that account for everyone who disbelieves in evolution.

It's like Creationism. Yes, there are many people that believe that God created the universe and set the natural laws in place and then let things run their course. But there are still people that believe the Earth is literally ~6000 years old too.

You're either trolling or genuinely mistaken in your assessment. Board 8 is one of the oldest active boards on the site (possibly the oldest). We're past the point where the average Board 8er is old enough to have graduated from college.

I only really come here to vote in two contests anymore but I have noticed some new users in the last several years. Children like mer mer and such are what make me question the age situation, thought obviously there are the long time vets of the board...I mostly frequent LUE and can say it certainly has an older demographic than board 8.

There's actually very few new users. Most of the 'new' users are just alts that you don't recognize.
