And having taken criminal justice classes and the like, cops have ticket quotas BECAUSE of safety, actually. It's to force action. Like you said... A lot of people speed. It's too easy to go "Everybody's doing it, why bother?" The quotas force the cops to take action and atleast catch some of them, because whether you like it or not, speed limits exist for a reason. And people are less likely to speed after they've received a ticket.

It's flawed, of course, but that's the idea behind it.

People don't go the speed limit because the speed limit exists and they subconsciously think they have to go faster. Limits are first made based on how fast people drive on average without problem. The problem then occurs that when you post a "30" based on how people DID drive, idiots suddenly think they have to go 45 to challenge that.

I used to have this gig I did for a buddy's site a few years ago, where I called myself the "Masked Masher" and, basically, chronicled my success through various games, both single player and multiplayer, to see just how far I could get by giving a game no practice/effort to learn (IE: button mashing). It might be fun to try to translate that straight out to sports games.

To be totally frank, I absolutely hate the way you argue with people. Even when you're not arguing with me, and it makes me unnecessarily angry - but I've never once considered you an enemy for it. You're just on the list of people I don't debate with. You're a smart, witty guy and there's definitely a place for you to be on board.


Yeah, to be perfectly honest... I just love to debate stuff and argue with people. And on a message board like this, I just don't really hold back, because I'm the type of person that can be ranting and raving on something to somebody in a topic... But then once I leave that topic, I usually forget what I was even arguing about or who it was with. It's just how I waste time, I guess. I know I'm overly aggressive and can turn into a total dick, though.

That said, I have absolutely no problem with you, and this sounds like something I'd really like to help out with.

There were one, maybe two key blown calls that MAY have affected anything, but you're sure not gonna get that out of going "Hey guys look at the difference in number of FTs."

Boston's a jump shooting team. Miami is constantly attacking the hoop. Pierce, their main guy at attacking the hoop, had fouled out.

you can't just look at free throws and expect it to say anything. the call on Rondo is obvious a legit gripe, but you can't just look at the numbers like that.

It was around 30-14, give or take.

But it was only 13-12 in favor of Heat until the last minutes of the 4th and overtime.
