Zidane/Kuja, in a rare instance that I vote against someone with "Meat" in their name in a "having sex" contest.
Besides he probably dies every time he tries to get it on.
Banjo/Grunty. Even if it's non-canon, Grunty is clearly going to get some from Mumbo in Banjo-Kazooie's Game Over sequence. Plus she has henchmen that she deliberately made uglier than her. You think they're going to tap anything else? With THOSE faces?
Biolizard28 posted... I find it insulting that people think Chidori is a good character, never mind better than f***ing Kanji.
Tied with, but yes it's disgusting. Though I'm told that how Kanji is portrayed is more traditionally homosexual in Japan than his 'trying too hard' appearance in the US, so maybe he's just less impactful in Japan due to that? That and the lack of Troy Baker in Japan?
NSMB drags down the whole Mario series. Zelda's worst game is... Oracle of Ages? I actually rather liked that one. Mario surely has higher highs for me, but as a whole, Mario's had greater missteps.
Hate missing Street Fighter and Final Fantasy IX, but otherwise very satisfied with my performance. Admittedly embarrassed it took me two clips to recognize P4 considering how often I blast its OST.
80% of GLaDOS's fans didn't know what she looked like and she was still able to win a match and perform to low-midcard expectations. With an actual picture and people knowing who she is, well, that actually makes this a little more interesting. And, if nothing else, the Portal Gun is going to be in the match pic, so that's funny, too.
Also never trusting Chrono Trigger since 2009 has done me pretty well!
Twilight Princess - An improved version of Ocarina of Time with no real strong or lasting additions. Gameplay-wise it's a very strong title, but comparing it to Ocarina from the standpoint of exploring a fresh new world is a bit underwhelming. I personally didn't like it, and would suggest renting it before purchasing. I think it's only, like, $20 new now anyway so.
Elder Scrolls Oblivion - You get dumped into a world full of stuff to do and limited direction on how to do it after a tutorial spoonfeeds you how to play the game. There's a lot more stuff than the last thing that had more stuff so if you liked the first stuff you'll like this stuff and there's a dude named Sheogorath and he does stuff and that stuff is pretty awesome. But really, it's a definitive WRPG. If exploration is your thing, you'll love it. If you prefer to get right to the action or story, while there are some workarounds, it's not going to be the best choice, and I would suggest something like Demon's Souls or Deus Ex Human Revolution instead.
999 - There's a lot of reading and trial & error gameplay to get specific endings, coupled with a few rudimentary puzzles and Phoenix Wright-like investigation to progress the plot. Professor Layton does the whole 'puzzle' aspect much better, and the investigation scenes only serve to pad the game out so that it can explain a lot of information. The story draws more on how dire the scenario is than character interactions/motivations until about halfway, to contrast with, say, Umineko. There's a lot of reading and an interesting scenario presented in a Saw-like fashion, but with an overarching theme of teamwork. Really no way to say if it's your kind of game or not without playing.
ICO/SotC - Just play Shadow of the Colossus. There's really no way to properly rate Shadow of the Colossus. The game has clunky controls and very awkward physics along with an annoying camera, but its sense of scope is unparalleled. Basically, by the fourth colossus, you'll know whether or not you love this game or hate it. Personally I find it really freaking boring, but it's based on how much the experience as a whole absorbs you.
Duke Nukem - There are better FPS's. Much better FPS's. But there aren't better FPS's that star Duke Nukem than Duke Nukem games. So if you like Duke Nukem, you can't get more Duke Nukem than Duke Nukem.

Touhou and Sonic tend to have the most 'insane' fanbases.
Team Fortress 2, from my experience, is just an awful time of in-jokes and stroking each others' egos. However, that fanbase comes up with legitimately good ideas some of the time. It doesn't outweigh the bad by a mile, but something good comes out of it occasionally, which is more than I can say for a lot.
As part of the Persona fanbase, I can say we're annoying as all Hell. There's something about that experience that makes us want to share it with others. Over and over again. Until the point where we drive people away in frustration by telling them how good the game is and how underappreciated it is and how it's the best RPG of this generation. All of which are completely true and if you haven't played Persona 4 you totally should.
DotA and Fighting Games tend to have very elitist communities. Smash Bros. is probably the worst of these since you can't say 'I like Melee' or 'I like Brawl' without having a temper tantrum from the other side.
So... I'll say Kingdom Hearts. I'm sorry, but I've had the displeasure of arguing with people who think Kingdom Hearts' plot is a tour de force of storytelling. It's like Metal Gear's fanbase, only unlike Metal Gear, most of it takes itself completely seriously. Not to mention I've had this conversation more than once:
"Oh my favorite video game is Kingdom Hearts" "Oh really? Well what stage did you like most in it? I have trouble liking the battle system so it'd be interesting if you could tell me..." "Oh... well I haven't actually PLAYED it, it's just my favorite."

She has better durability feats and speed feats elsewhere, but it's perfectly in-character for her to set this all up and then roll with it, and this was all I could find.
Also the thing she's fighting is at planet-buster level in-canon. Hopefully this should give you something to work with...

Well the thing is, the gem has to specifically be targeted; it gets shielded by the body otherwise. It's specifically described as being more durable than the human body, and the only way it really shatters is by healing the magical girl whose soul it contains to the point where it wastes a lot of energy. Normally this would be about three good fatal blows, if evidence from the Sayaka Vs Kyoko fight is anything to run off of. I'm not sure if the gem is elementally/psychically resistant, but thus far Soul Gems have only been destroyed through massive physical force being applied, despite elemental/projectile attacks being present in the series.
Also, tanking Psycho Boost... doesn't impress me as much as it should. Yes that's incredibly fast and yeah that's more credit than I'd give a normal human. But I'm not arguing in favor of a single rocket; I'm arguing in favor of, hypothetically, hundreds of rockets, plus bullets. Homura has been shown to carry small firearms and an assault rifle as well.
Finally why doesn't she just... like... steal the Pokeballs during a time freeze? There's probably a feat from Red I'm missing that makes this impossible, just curious.

Homura has this easily, and I can't see an argument as to why she wouldn't.
Homura's body actually does not exist; her entire being is in her Soul Gem. As such, supplementary material - I believe Oriko Magica, but I haven't read that in a while because my God the pacing on that is terrible, and definitely Grief Syndrome - show that Puella Magi can regen even their entire bodies as long as their soul gem is intact.
Yes, Red can mind read "oh target that thing and bam she dies", but Homura outright stops time against Walpurgisnight, and has enough time in that time freeze to fire off at least forty missile launchers, one by one, AND control where in the air they freeze.

Phoenix/Jecht was a night match that started on FFXIII's release at midnight EST. Consider retailers opening at 9 AM or 10 AM on average, excluding those who get it on midnight release (of which there would probably be few), consider those who would GO to Gamefaqs before, say, the FF Wiki to check on character growths/skills or getting the nifty guide that comes with some pre-orders, and you have a very, VERY small voterbase that would be attracted to Gamefaqs with the release of FFXIII until the last two hours of the match, at which point Jecht was comfortably winning anyway.
And, being fair, I'd take Peach > Wrighto, which makes me feel pretty justified in taking Breen. Even if it were Peach Vs Daisy, I'd take it over Wright/Edgey.

I have Shep/Saren getting out of the division over GLaDOS/Chell.
Really, it feels to me that Alucard is being greatly overestimated. Castlevania has nowhere to really go but down, with its last really "great" showing being in the series' contest. I don't give Magus the time of day anymore (which, incidentally, helped me with the bottom half's decisions), so for me, Alucard's performance on Magus in 2010 was just kind of standard, flirting with a low-midcard range. Shepard proved himself to be pretty damn legit last contest, Mass Effect 2 outright beat a universally beloved Mario game in Galaxy 2 in GotY despite being a 360/PC exclusive at the time, and Shepard's got a shiny PS3 port of ME2 to help him out, with enough background information given on Saren in that port to establish 'oh he's a pretty bad guy and Shep is kinda cool kicking his teeth in and stuff'. Dracula strengthens things, yes, but I'd feel confident taking the Mass Effect series over the Castlevania series.
As for Chell/GLaDOS... well, I want to argue that they aren't really niche anymore. Portal, for all it did incredibly well, was essentially a PC-exclusive unless you bought The Orange Box on 360 or PS3 for who-knows-what reason. Portal 2, on the other hand, got a massive amount of exposure in ads and whatnot. Sure, those mostly focused on Atlas and P-Body, but it exposed a lot to the series and that GLaDOS is funny as Hell and 'oh it's those chicks from Portal' is something that can actually be said now. Magus and Frog have aged terribly, and all Portal 2 has to do is boost the two just a bit. Plus, I don't think Chell being basically a non-factor in her game is going to matter if the Portal Gun is prominently displayed in her pic; then it's just "oh, it's that chick who has the Portal Gun, cool'.
Just two cents there.

So... I'm a dreamer but what are the odds of Conker/Poo escaping their match against Ike? Because I'd like to think that Poo would be stronger than Prinny by a good deal due to more mass joke appeal, and I'd say the Disgaea and N64 Rare fanbases are roughly equal, using Banjo/Gruntilda as a gauge. Is it a night match or day?
