Honestly I'm just very happy to be interesting. My tastes are frightfully standard - skewed toward piano, enjoy that ironic type of SA2 stuff, loved DKC2, Umineko, and Okami - so I feel it's best to create a broader spread. Sorry I couldn't find something quite so enticing for you, CG7. I will attempt to do better whenever you inevitably do this again.

Eh, ya win some, ya lose some. I felt that, as an instrument, the vocals were very nice and inoffensive, and as I find most songwriting naturally stupid and dumbed down in order to keep a rhyme scheme, I didn't much mind it. Buuut fair enough I guess.

Persona 4 I played... gee, about eight months ago? I force people to play it all the time, if that counts.

Just played DKC2 last Friday, though. Was able to get 100% through Crocodile Cauldron in sub-15 minutes; not great by any means, but damn does it feel good to do that after struggling for weeks on Squawk's Shaft as a kid.

The fixes to Yun and Yang in 2012 are greatly appreciated and much needed. Honestly, there are few better candidates for a "fighting game to get into fighting games" with; the engine is very mindgame-focused and allows for a nice, methodical progression, and allows for intimate knowledge of characters. It's intelligently designed from a base perspective, and while certain things bug me (hate Abel's throw range, always have. Feels so unnatural compared to Zangief), those are more personal gripes at a solid core experience.

And yes I would rate every version of Street Fighter II differently. It's like saying that Mortal Kombat and Mortal Kombat 2 are the same game; they aren't at all.

Excellent game that went for a completely different tone than Portal 1 and succeeded. Was very lively, very fun, and very much having-the-best-cast-of-only-three-characters ever.

Portal's still better, though. Dat atmosphere.

For as much as I hate Brawl (and I hate most of it other than parts of the soundtrack and the fact that DK is finally viable 'competitively' to some extent), it's hard for me to specifically blame Sakurai for this. Nintendo's attitude toward him has always been particularly harsh, especially since Iwata kind of just forced him onto the project, despite his best efforts to turn away from it. Melee was damn good since Sakurai gave a damn about it, and then a miracle happen that made it even better; hopefully he's giving a damn about this game, as well.

Also aw yeah time to camp out the site for weeks and feel depressed every time that K. Rool isn't the star of the update. Then cry if he's an assist trophy.

Don't really have the time anymore. Did a no Lazy Shell no Star Egg no Red Essence Bowser-only run of Super Mario RPG a few years back, and did the first world of DKC2 blindfolded pretty recently, but otherwise I just prefer to see what the developer intends as 'difficult' or 'the right difficulty'.

I prefer a stiletto, but both it and the katana work on the idea of a clean cut, as opposed to more blunt and brute force of a broadsword, so I can agree with this opinion. There's just something more... intimate about knives, I suppose.
