From: SmartMuffin | #348 Basically, they signed him, gave him a MONSTER push, overnight he was in the semi-finals of their #1 contenders tournament which was getting pushed decently.... and then he no-showed on them and was basically like "screw these guys im never going back there"
Kinda like Lashley but without the 1-week notice.

From: PrivateBiscuit1 | #315 But yeah, it's scary how there's so many lower card guys that are around right now that are actually promising. However, some don't have any future. Darren Young just doesn't, as much as I do like how he's been. Tyler Reks probably doesn't have much of a future either. Concerning other people, JTG won't have much of a future because they're just sitting on a great talent like him. Trent Barretta is in the same boat. I expect Ezekiel Jackson to be gone, much to my disappointment, since they seem to have turned their backs on him.
Honestly, those are the only guys who I can really think that they'll release. It's actually really strange.
Derrick Bateman is NXT gold but let's be honest here, in an actual moneymaking sense he brings nothing to the table, and he's in a race with Titus for least-talented NXT male (and right now heel Titus is winning).

No one has a storyline that couldn't be handwaved away in one episode on their way out the door.
An MLB analogy:
Raw/SD guys are the Major League starters, the best of the best, the guys carrying the company.
Superstars guys are the Major League bench players--quality players who aren't among the elite but have roles to fill when needed.
NXT guys are the Triple A guys--capable players who don't show the capacity for ever being better than a bench player/Superstars guy. Nevertheless they still have a role as a spot-filler for a league no one really cares about, just to keep themselves fresh and warmed up in case they're ever needed as an MLB bench player.
FCW guys are the Double A guys--the real prospects. The guys the company hopes will someday be in the starting lineup/rotation carrying the team.

FCW right now is more stacked than it has ever been, and that's not just my IWC smarkdom hyping up ex-indie stars. JR and Regal both agree.
When it comes time to call up some of those FCW stars, guess who they take roster spots from? The Derrick Batemans and Darren Youngs of the world.
Kidd, McGillicutty, and Hawkins are safest, since they're the best hands on the jobber side of the roster and that's always going to be in demand. The Usos are probably safe because they're the most over people on the show and serve a role for the company to PRETEND it has a tag division. I HOPE Percy Watson is safe because I see the biggest upside on the show in him.
Everyone else needs to keep bringing it or else people like Sandow, Ambrose, Rollins, Cesaro, Ohno, Steamboat, Rotundo, Harris, Langston, Woods, and Graves are coming for their jobs.

This season of NXT has already passed so many milestones. The next significant one will be to see if this season can make it a full year since the most recent elimination. <_<
Conor O'Brien was eliminated on June 28th, so just 13 more episodes to go!

Hawkins and Reks can't be the kidnappers of Matt Striker, because Reks vs. Percy Watson was happening while the kidnapping occurred.
Unless Hawkins acted alone I suppose and Reks just gets credit as his partner.
EDIT: And ROFLMAO at WWE backstage skit reality. The whole segment was premised on the idea that Hawkins and Reks are gonna frame Curtis and Maxine unless Maxine uses her influence over Regal to get what they want. But the whole segment was caught on camera, and Josh and Regal even COMMENTED on the segment being yet another example of NXT craziness right after it happened, despite Regal being the intended mislead rube at the core of the whole thing when it goes down.
And yet I still love the show because I feel like this will actually be lampshaded somehow instead of just ignored.

From: DSAutoResponder | #289 "According to Dave on Observer Radio, WWE is expecting Daniel Bryan to go back to his normal pre-Mania heel reaction next week"
That's not an unreasonable thought, to be honest. As long as it's just "we're expecting this to happen but we're flexible if it doesn't" and not "we absolutely know 100% this will happen because our plans would be totally screwed if it doesn't."

Honestly though, whoever it is should probably spend less time thinking about how to most cleverly post as CrankyVince and more time making the product awesome. <_<

Yeah, all the ex-writers have said that CrankyVince drops certain nuggets of info that no one who hasn't been there would know, and that his derogatory descriptions of individual interns/writers (i.e. "FAST-TALKING L.A. RUNT") actually match up to an actual intern/writer on staff, who obviously aren't public figures.

1.9 million this year, imagine next year with this card:
(just throwing out every conceivable supermatch)
Brock Lesnar (c) vs. The Rock John Cena vs. The Undertaker Steve Austin vs. CM Punk Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels Dolph Ziggler (c) vs. Daniel Bryan Money in the Bank Ladder Match
Heck I think that's a 4-hour card right there.
2.25 Million buys

Also with Cody and Jay Lethal both losing their titles this past weekend, Aries moved into the #2 spot behind Davey Richards as the longest-reigning champion of note in America.

From: Wanglicious | #176 is aries more russo or new guy.
Aries's reign is so freaking long that it STARTED with Russo as head writer, PROCEEDED through Russo being demoted, and now PERSISTS with Russo gone entirely.
So I really don't know how to classify it.

When is it annoying to discuss why you like the things you like!
If you're just popping in and being like "MAN I LOVE THIS ERIC YOUNG ANGLE" it would be weird, but if you actually wanted to break it down and discuss it, most of us are game to debate and even to agree to disagree.
