Again, just saying, to me this doesn't qualify as a reboot, because it's not rebooting anything. It has no relation to the Japanese series (millennium series you mentioned), so it's certainly not rebooting it.

It'd be kind of like saying The Departed is a reboot of the Infernal Affairs series. It's just an American take on it.

Long story short, Dave is making a Godzilla movie. But it doesn't really have any effect on the Godzilla series.

Hah, I know it's semantics, agree to disagree etc, but I'm gonna find the rampant use of the word reboot for everything to be a bit funny.

But we had an American Godzilla. Movie, video games, cartoons, toys, etc.

So that'd make this a "reboot," as far as America is concerned.

"Clunkers" David Faustino

The entire first page has it.

EDIT: And as I read more into further results, it seems Comedy Central had bought it (no idea if they aired any), then dropped it, and it's been being shopped around since.

Listed on wikis of other people involved/such.

No idea what happened to it, though, but it's still not listed as a dead project, so... Who knows.

He was one of the stars. IMDB just only has one episode listed for all three of the credited title names.

The show was supposed to be on Comedy Central and just got... Lost or something. I'm almost positive they aired an episode or two, but I can't find squat on it now, though it's apparently not dead.

I think part of it is, when Married With Children ended, O'Neill was 51 while Faustino was 23. More to the point, O'Neill had played AL ****ING BUNDY, while Faustino had merely been Bud Bundy. Even if neither of them ever worked again, O'Neill would have to be considered far more successful.

I'm not at all saying Faustino's anywhere near as successful as O'Neill overall. I'm just saying that it probably doesn't really suck to be Faustino since he can still find work easily enough, even if not big projects. A steady paycheck doesn't really suck these days. And apparently, he didn't like the limelight and doesn't take many roles, anyway, so who knows what impact that has on it.

Christina Applegate just had a series end on which she was nominated for at least two Emmys, and has another show premiering in the fall. She also has worked on Tony-nominated Broadway shows when not on TV. Ed O'Neill has spent the last two years on a juggernaut sitcom and is Emmy nominated this year (and he's much harder to cast due to his age and his iconic turn as Al Bundy). Katey Sagal is the current Golden Globe winner for Best Actress in a TV Series - Drama and has had the most consistent TV career of any of the show's main four.

Yeah, I admit to being wrong on Applegate. IMDB isn't caught up on her completely.

But I specifically said not counting Modern Family/Sons of Anarchy. Obviously, getting one hit show will put you in the limelight. Before Modern Family, Ed had a show that completely bombed, much like Faustino did. It's just a matter of getting lucky, there.

The point I'm making is that none of the four are having any problem getting work. Faustino just hasn't gotten lucky and hit it big like the others have. He's still getting paychecks, which a lot of old sitcom actors can't say.

And I was pointing out how, if you take out the two big recent shows each got, you're wrong on the "especially." Sagal did Futurama and pretty much nothing but bit roles until SoA, and O'Neill did... A terrible show that got canned a season in.

Faustino had a (also bad, apparently) show, and was more actively getting work (than O'Neill, atleast), even if it was nothing big. Work is still work. If he randomly gets a show, he'll be better off than Applegate and right back up there with current Al/Peggy.

A VA role may get you known, but it's not really what you want to be known for as an actor. Azaria was cool with Simpsons and bit parts, and that's cool for him, but for most actors/actresses, it's not really what you want your career to be.

And 8 Simple Rules wasn't in the last five years, which is what you mentioned!

To be fair, before Modern Family and Sons of Anarchy, O'Neill and Sagal weren't really "flourishing" any more than he was. Faustino was doing just as many bit parts in random shows/movies as they were, really, and while Sagal may have had Futurama, I'm not sure I'd really count a VA role for an actor/actress as flourishing.

The term "pop song," is first recorded as being used in 1926 in the sense of a piece of music "having popular appeal".[4] Hatch and Millward indicate that many events in the history of recording in the 1920s can be seen as the birth of the modern pop music industry, including in country, blues and hillbilly music.[5]

According to Grove Music Online, the term "pop music" "originated in Britain in the mid-1950s as a description for Rock and roll and the new youth music styles that it influenced ...".[6] The Oxford Dictionary of Music states that while pop's "earlier meaning meant concerts appealing to a wide audience ...[,] since the late 1950s, however, pop has had the special meaning of non-classical mus[ic], usually in the form of songs, performed by such artists as the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, ABBA, etc."[7] Grove Music Online also states that "... in the early 1960s [the term] ‘pop music’ competed terminologically with Beat music [in England], while in the USA its coverage overlapped (as it still does) with that of ‘rock and roll’."[6] Chambers' Dictionary mentions the contemporary usage of the term "pop art";[8] Grove Music Online states that the "term pop music ... seems to have been a spin-off from the terms pop art and pop culture, coined slightly earlier, and referring to a whole range of new, often American, media-culture products".[6]

Actually, that's exactly what the genre originated as. "Having popular appeal." Just because one can now argue it has a different meaning doesn't mean that they have to abide by it over the original idea.
