It has also led to a decline in marriage opportunities for sharp careerist women that are slaves to their hypergamous natures. Where once these women would have been fine with the wide selection of men available to them, they now deem these men (rightfully) below them in status and incredibly unattractive. They spend their primes seeking implausible commitment from the host of alpa males they can attract until they hit the wall and suddenly the men they spent their 20s rejecting don't even want them anymore.
It's absolutely f***ing vicious, but it's what's happening.
From: dethfdddddh | #026 And yet women are less happy then men.
http://www.nber.org/papers/w14969.pdf Read the essay, homie. The guy who wrote it goes in to how feminism has actually led to the decline in overall happiness for women. The main problem with the glorification of single motherhood and 'cougar'hood, women are finding the harsh reality that after they've hit the wall there are no longer opportunities to enjoy happiness with the alpha males they could attract in their 20s.
And yet Ogi Ogas found in A Billion Wicked Thoughts that GMILFS and MILFS were popular pornography search terms. I concede, though, that he recognized that youth was the most popular pornographic topic for men.

Yeah Brian Banks is basically the epitome of what western feminism has done. Made it okay for things like this to happen. Made misandry perfectly acceptable.
You don't believe massive global countercultures have historical significance? I mean, I'd argue that Star Wars has historical significance, and all that ever did was generate a fanbase. But surely the first wave of rock-and-roll fans had historical significance.
I don't mean that the whole world will be drawn into ponies or something stupid like that. But it would be a rise in a youth culture focused on positivity, the arts, and nonviolence.
just you wait until the pocket polly movement gets started

would you care to explain to holocaust victims the horrors of american fascism
i'm sure they'll be amused

Well, for one thing it can't be universal when many men aren't at all attracted to it (and are attracted to dudes).
But even among straight dudes there's no 100% consensus on things like that. Sure there are common things that a many find attractive, but it's all still subjective by the very definition, based on or influenced by personal feelings, tastes, or opinions.
By universal, ev. psychologists mean the average preference within a culture.
It's universal in the sense that every known culture has this average preference of 0.7.

All of evolutionary psychology is about averages; there is always individual variation.

And not just in this this goes for everything, and is found pretty much all over the internet. GameFAQs in particular seems especially bad. I'm not really concerned with being right, so much as annoyed with this mentality that the media (and men) are evil and wrong for liking a certain body type for women.
When that body type is an unhealthy ideal for most women to pursue and contributes to the development of eating disorders, then there might be a problem.

They're usually social constructionists who think that society plays a role in determining sexual preferences.
To support their opinions, they would likely point to Greek pederasty/Turkish dancing boys and argue that such homoeroticism is now taboo in modern Western society.
There's also the classic "fat girls were preferred in the past" argument, but I think that's been debunked.

People understand that they can't turn into a first world country overnight, China doesn't have the wealth to do it. But this is a country that was dirt poor 20 years ago. So we can't pressure China to improve working conditions any faster than it is already doing itself, which is historically fast. And remember the country is still run by the Communist Party, which at least nominally protects workers' rights.

i really wouldn't turn to shounen anime for great protagonists Samsa just plain doesn't fit in that list. Like, at all. An ineffectual protagonist is the opposite of a good one!
Samsa's sense that he's a burden on his family really speaks to modern man, whose value largely depends on his economic productivity.
Raskolnikov's not exactly Mr. competent either. Ivan spent most of the novel in a moral crisis and failed to save Dmitri from his indictment. Even Beowulf died against the dragon!
You're really limiting yourself if you don't think ineffectual characters can be good protagonists.

Doubt it. Newt Gingrich's wife just accused him of asking for an open marriage, and it doesn't seem to have hurt him too much. Those newsletters will hurt Ron Paul as much as Jeremiah Wright's sermons hurt Obama.
The problem is that Paul will be cast as a racist against a black candidate. It won't end well.
