1. To Far Away Times ~ Ending Theme - Memories of Green is good too, but this has always been one of my favorites.

1. Wind Scene ~ World Map Theme 3 - Pretty easy decision, although again both are good. Should have been Secret of the Forest here instead though, that probably would have gotten my vote.

wtf secret of the forest lost?!

8. Tyran Castle - This is the toughest match of the day, both songs are quite good.

3. Battle With Magus - This match was close too, but these aren't as good as the first two.

1. Schala's Theme - Easy match.

2. Corridors of Time ~ World Map Theme 6 - Another easy one.

2. Secret of the Forest ~ Guardia Forest Theme

All four of these matches are basically one good song against one much better song.

8. Tyran Castle - I've never understood why Frog's Theme is so beloved... it's a good song, but strictly mid tier as far as Chrono Trigger songs go. I like Tyran Castle better.

5. The Day the World Revived - This one is a difficult decision.

6. Kingdom Trial - I used to really love Battle With Magus, but I've gotten tired of it and don't like it as much as I used to. Kingdom Trial is cool.

2. Peaceful Days ~ World Map Theme 1 - Both are good, but the map theme is more memorable to me and is one of the songs that encapsulates the feeling of playing CT.

3. Undersea Palace
2. Secret of the Forest ~ Guardia Forest Theme
- These two are pretty easy.

1. Frog's Theme - Mystery of the past is great, and Frog's Theme is overrated, but that's not enough to overcome the fact that only one of these is a real song.

8. Tyran Castle - I love Tyran Castle. Chrono Trigger has a great title screen, but as a song it's still pretty short and undeveloped, so I don't think this is a difficult choice.

4. Chrono Trigger ~ Main Theme - This one is a more difficult choice, I really like Morning Sunlight. It's peaceful and good. But the intro theme is great.

5. The Day the World Revived - Good song. I like Gato, especially with his lyrics, but his song doesn't really compare.

Yeah, Dollhouse was pretty bad. And some of the seasons of Buffy and Angel were mediocre. But overall Whedon has had a lot more big successes than most people have:

- Buffy seasons 2 and 3 are incredible.
- Angel season 5 is outstanding.
- Firefly is probably the best single-season show ever.

Secret of the Forest ~ Guardia Forest Theme

Now this is how you handle the concept of shrubbery in the Chrono universe, Mr. Uematsu! :P I'm actually not the biggest fan of this song (it's still like a 7.5 though, rest assured... LOL Chrono Trigger OST) so it's somewhat disappointing that more poorly-seeded favorites of mine don't get to advance to the second round, but such is life.

I think Secret of the Forest is Mitsuda.

14. Singing Mountain - This is actually a pretty difficult decision, both songs are good but kinda mid tier for this soundtrack.

11. Dome 16's Ruins - Also a difficult decision.

7. Silent Light - By contrast this one is a pretty easy decision. I like Silent Light.

2. Secret of the Forest ~ Guardia Forest Theme - And this one is an extremely easy decision, although Good Night is very good for an 8 second long song. Secret of the Forest is awesome.

No, I will seriously take Voyager's overall cast over TNG's. I seriously will. DS9 blows them both out of the water but I will type that and I will even mean it.

Picard and Data alone almost wipe the floor with Voyager but The Doctor and Seven do a lot toward keeping it closer. I know most of Voyager's cast is dull but man, the focus episodes on people like Geordi were literally the same thing over and over again -- "Geordi finds love, ruh-roh, he's kind of a creep though!"

I kinda-sorta still like TNG's cast for the most part anyway, just because you can tell that's not really what the show is about is trying very hard to expand upon them. And sure, it's a better television show than Voyager. But Voyager's writers knew how to write a handful of its characters better than TNG's writers ever bothered to attempt writing most of its cast.

I don't even know what to say... other than lol at the idea of Voyager's writers knowing how to write characters. I remember someone on this board (Anagram?) posting a rant about how ridiculously inconsistent Janeway's character was, and it seemed pretty spot on to me.

The doctor on Voyager was awesome. But literally everyone else on that show was a zero. Like the Doctor was Picard tier, and every other character was Wesley tier. Not a good cast.

DS9 had a good cast, but I just can't place them above TNG, if we're judging by the people with their names in the credits. For one thing, they didn't have any single standout who was on the level of Picard/Spock/Data/The Doctor. Who's the best character on DS9, maybe Quark? Except that Quark was in a position where he was kinda tangential to the main plot of the show. Some of the mains could be pretty annoying... Kira and Odo bugged me WAY more than Bev and Troi ever did. Sisko was alright, but there's a reason people debate Kirk vs Picard and no one ever debates Sisko vs Picard.

If you were including the secondary characters then maybe that puts DS9 over the top, but TNG had better mains.

That's already more than half of the final main cast >_>

Personally I thought TNG's guest characters were mostly pretty boring, aside from Q. But all 7 of the mains were at least pretty good. Yar and Wes were kinda bad, but fortunately they were both gone for the last few seasons.

Crusher was definitely a lot better than Pulaski... but still toward the bottom end as far as TNG characters go. I don't know why but Star Trek has a kind of bad track record with making interesting female characters.

Did anyone actually want her to come back for a cameo or better sendoff?

(spoilers: no.)

I mean, the brought back both Yar and Wesley, who were also pretty crappy characters, so I have to assume there was literally no one on the staff who thought bringing Pulaski back was a good idea.

To be fair, Yar was a lot cooler when she came back as a guest star than she was as a regular. And Wes was decent in that one episode with Ashley Judd.

14. Confusing Melody - Personally I'm just not that big a fan or World Revolution. Confusing Melody is a cool track as background music, so it gets my vote.

6. Guardia Castle - Somewhat difficult match, but I'll go with the more memorable Guardia Castle.

10. Sealed Door - Not particularly close.

2. Memories of Green ~ World Map Theme 2 - Man, why is Burn! Bobonga! a 15 seed? This is actually a very close match for me.

I can't agree with that... personally I'd take Corridors of Time as the odds on favorite to win the contest. FWIW that's the only Chrono Trigger song that's retired in Ed's VGMusic contests.
