The UWF (Bill Watts)/Mid South Wrestling tape libraries are now under WWE ownership.

What 'major' promotion tape libraries are left? The various Memphis promotions (discounting Memphis Championship Wrestling)?

Came here to post this. This is quite a coup for wrestling geeks.

Obviously the most significant tape libraries that WWE doesn't own belong to organizations that are still alive. <_<

But yeah I'd say the CWA and USWA tape libraries are now the top dead companies they don't own the library of, which in the case of the USWA is kind of ironic considering the co-operation between WWE and USWA at the time of the latter's existence.

The only title to change hands between Backlash and Insurrextion is the Hardcore Title, but it changes hands a lot!

It starts on Bubba Ray Dudley and goes to:
Steven Richards - Tommy Dreamer - Goldust - Steven Richards - Shawn Stasiak - Justin Credible - Crash Holly - Steven Richards - Shawn Stasiak - Steven Richards - Crash Holly - Steven Richards

Insurrextion is the final show of any kind that gets to use the WWF name, so one last time in memorium:

WWF Undisputed Champion: Hulk Hogan
WWF Tag Team Champions: Billy & Chuck
WWF Intercontinental Champion: Eddie Guerrero
WWF European Champion: Spike Dudley
WWF Hardcore Champion: Steven Richards
WWF Cruiserweight Champion: Tajiri
WWF Women's Champion: Jazz

Sting Stinger Splashes the ref

Somehow ends up putting on the Scorpion Deathlock

Roode taps while the ref is bumped.

Well I wasn't really counting Abyss, he's had all of 10 minutes on screen since January.

As far as Brooke goes, I can't hold anything against her this week. Her appearance was brief, served a purpose just as well as anyone else could have served, and advanced a storyline. Fair play.

THIS WEEK she wasn't taking anyone's spot.

Hey remember how we were just talking about how all WWE matches end on either a signature move, a roll-up of some kind, or something illegal happening? Check out Swagger vs. Ryder on Superstars, it has none of those as the finish!

JaKyL25

Well it's hardly "too soon" from a timing standpoint. Next year will be YEAR EIGHT of the 360. The original Xbox only made it through four!

Nintendo by going on a 6-year-cycle is already on the outer limits of a normal timetable. Microsoft and Sony are about to re-define the timetables entirely.

Also I'm not sure why you think the ANALYSTS are "idiots" for predicting new consoles next year. They're not the ones actually making the decisions!

People always underestimate Arquette's reign in kayfabe, but he did:

1.) Pin someone to win the title (albeit not the Champion)
2.) Successfully defend the title (lol Tank Abbott)
3.) Lose the title in a match without forfeiting it.

That's more respectable than Ziggler's reign at least!

It's true though!

Bret just entered 2000 as WCW Champion and then forfeited it due to retirement without even having a post-New Year's defense.

Although yes, Vince Russo merely won the WCW Title by being speared through a cage door and then forfeited it without defending it.

It's actually a closer race than I initially thought. <_<

In fact, here's my ranking of all 42, just from 1/1/00 to today, just counting the belts WWE recognizes.

1.) John Cena
2.) Triple H
3.) The Rock
4.) Edge
5.) Batista
6.) The Undertaker
7.) Randy Orton
8.) Kurt Angle
9.) Chris Jericho
10.) Brock Lesnar
11.) Booker T
12.) CM Punk
13.) Steve Austin
14.) Sheamus
15.) Scott Steiner
16.) John "Bradshaw" Layfield
17.) Mark Henry
18.) Chris Benoit
19.) Jeff Jarrett
20.) Kane
21.) Daniel Bryan
22.) Bill Goldberg
23.) Rey Mysterio
24.) The Miz
25.) Eddie Guerrero
26.) Sid
27.) Alberto Del Rio
28.) Jeff Hardy
29.) Big Show
30.) The Great Khali
31.) Jack Swagger
32.) Kevin Nash
33.) Shawn Michaels
34.) Hulk Hogan
35.) Christian
36.) Rob Van Dam
37.) Ric Flair
38.) Diamond Dallas Page

42.) Bret Hart

Some notes:

--The only two on the list who held pre-2000 World Titles were Triple H (two short WWE title reigns) and Undertaker (three WWE title reigns, one lengthy and two short).

--The official list of snubs is:

Big Show
Bret Hart
Chris Benoit
Sid
Jeff Jarrett
The Rock
Diamond Dallas Page
David Arquette
Ric Flair
Kevin Nash
Vince Russo
Scott Steiner
Steve Austin
Hulk Hogan
Brock Lesnar
Shawn Michaels
Bill Goldberg
Eddie Guerrero
John "Bradshaw" Layfield
Rey Mysterio
Rob Van Dam
The Great Khali
Jeff Hardy
Sheamus
Jack Swagger
Kane
The Miz
Dolph Ziggler
Christian
Alberto Del Rio
Mark Henry
Daniel Bryan

I think Rock absolutely deserved to be on the list, probably pretty high. The only reigns of his that the timeframe cuts off are his 3 brief initial Corporate Champion reigns. All 6 of his babyface reigns fit here.

I also think Brock Lesnar should crack the list over Booker T, but I can buy him just barely making it at #10, and that's a fairly close race.

New list from WWE.com!

The Top 10 World Champions of the 21st Century

For the purposes of this list, they are only counting reigns from January 1st, 2000 to today, but it includes the WWE Championship, the World Heavyweight Championship, and the WCW Championship.

1.) John Cena
2.) Triple H
3.) Edge
4.) The Undertaker
5.) CM Punk
6.) Randy Orton
7.) Batista
8.) Chris Jericho
9.) Kurt Angle
10.) Booker T

CM Punk WAY too high, I'd probably swap Jericho and Angle, and also swap Batista and Undertaker.

Hard to argue with #1 and #2 from a kayfabe perspective though.

Joey Ryan sez:

On whether he was shocked by the outcome: "They didn't give me any indication. I mean I know from the kind of drama for television that someone was going to say no and someone was going to say yes…And I didn't know who the third judge was going to be until we went out there. When I got out there, I kind of felt like I was part of some kind of agenda or greater idea of Gut Check as a whole rather than one individual performance."

On whether the Gut Check is a work: "People are going to think what they want. Everyone is smarter than pro wrestling. At least they think they are. TNA is very gung ho about this reality based thing for at least this segment. They didn't tell me anything. The information I knew was very minimal. They just said "you're going to go out there and they are going to judge you." I don't think they expected my reaction to it because I'm sure they are used to guys who just want to do business and do the right thing and even if they get rejected they will say "thank you sir and thanks for the opportunity". I wasn't going to sit there and have anybody talk down to me about my career and my life because they don't know what I've been through. They don't know the struggles I have gone through. They don't know all the times in the Indy scene that I've heard three no's to 1 yes that I have gotten for any booking I have ever done. Getting told no doesn't faze me. I always bounce back."

On his confrontation with Taz: "I definitely don't think Taz saw what was coming. It was very heated. He actually wanted to confront me after the show. He went back to commentary after and he was looking for me after the show, but a couple of friends backstage tried to calm him down. They told me it was best to avoid him. Honestly I didn't see him after the show and I haven't talked to him. I've read his tweets a little bit, but haven't talked to him after the show since."

This is some of the most f***ed up kayfabe-within-a-kayfabe-within-a-kayfabe s*** I've ever seen.

I still hold strong to my mantra of "Everything you see on TV (except some injuries) is a work."

- Kelly Kelly has been given some time off by WWE. A source within the company said that Kelly has been on the road full-time since 2006, noting, "She's been here since he was a kid. She had been pushing for time away to spend with her family and her boyfriend. Six years for someone of her age [25 years old] is a lifetime. She needed a break."

Several people within the company don't believe she's returning soon if at all. Kelly has started to use her given name, Barbie Blank, in the public eye and is starting to take endorsements and appearances outside of WWE sources. Her last televised appearance was the May 21st Raw, while she last worked the May 26th house show.

I know K2's not very popular around these parts, but I've always felt that she legitimately cared about her role in the industry and that's all I ever ask. I wish her the best.

If my Twitter detective skills are up to snuff, I'm pretty sure that she and the Bellas were very close and I have to imagine suddenly being on the road without them is rough for her.

The comments I've been seeing from hardcore gamers online mostly agree they wouldn't pay for it, and would only be interested in it if it was a pack-in. But by including it with the Wii U, it would likely increase the price, so they'd still be paying for it.

Wii Sports and Wii Play have already proved that simple games like these can be million sellers. Most ordinary customers would have no problem buying the game separately. So logically wouldn't it be better for everyone if it wasn't bundled? Casual gamers won't care, hardcore gamers won't miss it and will have a slightly cheaper console, and Nintendo makes oodles of money.

Wii Sports Resort and Wii Play both came with bonus hardware pack-ins.

Right, but the warp zones/whistles and such are basically just the 2D equivalent to 64/Sunshine/Galaxy just openly giving you the option of going from world to world once you've unlocked them.

I play platformers for the platforming, I play adventure games for exploration!

Your complaints about FLUDD controls are noted, and even though I disagree I can admit that if they didn't work fluidly for you (pun intended) that it would completely bork the game.

What is this Nintendo Land?

Minigame collection for Wii U as a demonstration of the console, a la Wii Sports for the Wii

Beyond: Two Souls, from the makers of Heavy Rain, was quite simply the future of not only gaming, but possibly acting

Are you sure about that?

You know what I'm kinda surprised ISN'T a Wii U launch window title? Some kind of HD Collection. Mario Galaxy 1/2 HD for example.

It would really be if nothing else a nice side-by-side graphics comparison to demonstrate the upgrade from the Wii.

(Although I guess if they really wanted to do that they could just put NSMBWii and NSMBU side-by-side)

I'm pretty sure this will fall somewhere between Link's Crossbow Training and Super Smash Bros. Brawl on the Zelda timeline.

I'm sure I'll love NintendoLand. I played Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort more than any other games in their respective release years.

I just hope it's not sold as a full-priced standalone game.
