Hmm.

I'm going to revise the draft and post it tonight. It's about half finished, I'd say, but it's better than nothing. Then work on the public, I suppose.

But a shower comes first.

Gravy got lazy and just stopped writing one day. I bugged him a lot about it, but he just isn't interested anymore.

There was a hint to what Jerry and Frederica did in Lloyd's final story.

Lloyd was supposed to have more plot relevance, since he was the only dude who got a different TIP. However, he got screwed over in game(all the other teams except maybe Berserker wanted him dead). Gravy just let that die out though, since Lloyd wasn't doing much after Archer died. He literally just attacked once afterwards, and after that, he sucked on his mom's boobs.

btw, ask about Blackstone. He apparently was supposed to have relevance too, but he just kind of got left out until the end.

Frederica is dead. I hinted to that. Advanced aging caught up to her in her efforts to resurrect her dead husband.

Jerry's story continues after his assault on Lloyd in Japan. If I had gotten to the epilogue, it'd have probably been 20% of the entire conclusion, really. Kaho's story continues; I decided to leave her for last due to her unpopularity. Neither of them will likely finish. Why? I lost interest, I have less time than I used to, and Touphi's help was limited due to more important obligations. It's also glorified fanfiction, which kind of irks me.

There's a rough draft of Matthias' epilogue. It was written generally poorly and one particular point I forced it into the narrative and I never went back to it. I hate to say it but his ending was pretty integral to comprehending the events that took place in this war, seeing as this was a direct sequel.

Lloyd was the problem behind the replaying of 13. I thought it made it relatively clear about his entire purpose and the ramifications of his selfish desire, but perhaps it had been lost. I don't mind elaborating on it in a little while...

Blackstone was a corrupt member of the Church, or to that effect. I never specified that, however. He was also a participant in the second HGW. He betrayed Matt and attempted to torture to understand the very unique arts that the Schmidt clan possessed. This was to safeguard his wish of immortality. However...well, that didn't happen. He was never able to learn the arts of Mimicry and the destruction of the grail negated his own wish of immortality. His mentioning served another purpose, of which I am not really inclined to tell right now.

I do plan on giving this war a proper ending. Expect a combined update for the siblings' deaths (and perhaps servant, though Caster died a decent amount of time after Sarah did) in the next few days. I'm going to experiment with something new.

Variabilis did not appear in War 13 in person, though a very minor mention of him was made.

As for publics...I'm really far behind. I don't like to make promises but I do want to do updates for the nights in which a player character was killed. Including Sarah's death.

I'm just making a bit of an assumption there. It seems everyone is connected to someone else in this war. Alex killed Alena's family for the necklace (which may or may not rightfully belong to Alex). Variabilis may be connected to Alex as well somehow but there's not enough information to be certain. Sarah and Blake are siblings. So that leaves Ayumi and Sheng.

Ayumi and Sheng have absolutely nothing to do with each other, actually. Ayumi had been acquainted with Blake from a quite a few years past. Variabilis, well...I really don't want to spoil anything about him, but he's quite familiar with Sheng, which was in Berserker's only story update. Which I wish I had more time for...ah well.

The necklace never belonged to Alexander. However, he feels entitled to it. He went all out of his way to obtain it, only for it to slip between his fingers like sand on a beach, to say the least. Nor does he ever get it. Or...at least up until this point.

If anyone from 13 feels like bluing Variabilis' identity, I wouldn't mind answering. For old time's sake. I gotta give it to ryo, he was very creative with my request.

Elsewhere…

“Well met. I’m glad you were able to arrive on such short notice, Mr. President.” The first figure was very well dressed. He held out his hand. “The years have treated you well.”

He laughed while accepting the handshape. “Indeed, my friend. Have you spoken with them, yet?” His voice was heavily accented, but it had improved…

The other gentleman scratched his head, deliberately to avoid his colleague’s gaze. “Ah…yes. Those two.” He chuckled nervously.

“...World tour.”

Lancer grunted in response to her Master’s commands, in compliance. Twirling her spear about, she cast two frozen orbs of mana at a rapid speed towards the inert Alena. Rider jumped in her way, and took both blows, and shrugged them off. The frozen property of the spell coated her skin and clothing with a thin sheet of frost.

Lancer didn’t hesitate. While Rider struggled with the frostbite, Lancer charged at her, her spear in tow. She closed the distance in but a moment, and began a rapid assault of slashes and thrusts. Rider parried the strikes, slowly but surely losing ground. Finally, Lancer used a feint: a slash to her abdomen and sent her spear through Rider’s left shoulder blade and quickly retreated to Alexander’s side.

Instead of Alex’s warm embrace, only the wrath of the dreaded paper crane awaited her. The crane launched an ambush, and floated through the air as well as paper could. It assaulted Lancer several times, inflicting minor paper cuts. Lancer tried to shoe the crane away, but to no avail. Lancer frowned.

That wasn’t the end of it. Rider regained her bearings from the previous assault, and leapt into the fray. Rider flashed brightly, and sent forth three orbs of energy from her palm. Lancer was exhausted from her assault on Rider prior, and only dodged them slightly, taking the brunt of the damage. Rider followed up with an even bigger orb of energy, one that subsequently split into four identical orbs of energy, aimed at her aggressors.

“Is that it, child?” Sheng said, suddenly. “It appears you are no match for us. Grant her a final respite, Saber.”

Saber nodded in response and beckoned to Byakuei. “Show them your teeth!”

Byakuei howled, and lunged towards Rider. Rider swung her sword clumsily at Byakuei, but he ignored her defensive position all the same. He lunged at her bare arm, his teeth bared and crunched down repeatedly. By the time he was done, her left arm was a bloody mess.

“Get your pet out of the way, Saber,” Caster said calmly. Readjusting her crown, she made a motion, summoning a bizarre weapon. One might call it a machine gun, or so Alex thought, but Caster was paying no heed to the stares about her. Revving the gun up, she fired a volley of consolidated water at Rider, strong enough to puncture skin. Rider desperately tried dodging the assault to no avail, taking minor hits to her abdomen. Following up on her initial barrage, Caster began charging an even larger blast of water. Caster was smiling, or so Alex thought.

I’ll have to keep that in mind for later. The princess has an attitude…

The shell of water collided with Rider as Alex diverted attention to his thoughts, and sent the solider flying a good few meters. Berserker was poised to strike while the woman was down, urged on by that weirdo for her Master. Before Rider could even get back to her feet, Berserker began to impale the defenseless vixen with her sharp wings. It seemed to Alex that she had deliberately ignored piercing her vital organs, in order to prolong her misery. Behind her was the damn broad, her Master, as lifeless as she had been the entire encounter.

Night 19 – Confrontation

Local Time – 8:45 PM (Fifth Day)

“All clear,” Lancer reported to Alex. Their conversations were limited to strictly business, unlike some of the other pairs around them. It hadn’t taken long for Alex or Lancer to loathe each other. At least you don’t have to like your Servant in order to win.

Alex looked about his surroundings. Most of the streetlights were flickering, if not completely dead, perhaps from the bitter cold that overtook the city. Sheng had his arms tucked in tight, in a desperate attempt to stay warm. Saber was a short distance behind
him, absorbing a bulk amount of mana into her sword. The sword glowed faintly.

Berserker took off into the skies, and flew without a care in the world. Variabilis didn’t seem to take notice, nor care.

Berserker weaved in between the streetlights at a great speed and coincidentally thawed the frozen pillars. A few objects slowly came into view…the same bullets from nights past. The bullets sped past the midair Berserker, continuously gaining speed.

Alex blinked. In the split second, the bullets collided with Lancer. Not one, not two, not three, but five full hits landed on the young woman, who shielded her Master from the attacks. Her lip was bloodied, but didn’t seem to sustain much damage from the assault. If she had, well, she was a great actor.

“Be on your guard,” Sheng said, his voice calm. Out of the four Masters here, Sheng was the eldest. In time, he had become their de facto leader of sorts. Alex resented that. In his short life, Alex had never taken commands from another. The last time he was ordered, he mercilessly slaughtered whoever questioned his authority. Alex wasn’t sure why he continued to follow the old man and his farce of a plan. The fruits of his labor had returned him only a minor cold.

Until now. A young girl and a woman were accompanied by a fair of flying pieces of paper. The familiars were nothing new, but he hadn’t been quite acquainted with the other two ladies. At a glance, it was hard to tell apart Servant from Master, but he wagered that the elder of the two was the Servant. Man’s intuition…or something like that.

Moments later, both of the newcomers’ faces were dimly illuminated by the remnants of the streetlights that continued to work. The elder of the two had a large sword drawn, her strawberry blonde hair slightly messy. Not as bad as that fool Sarah’s, but…

Besides her was a young girl, still in her teens. She had a regal appearance about her, and she wore a blue blouse and gray skirt. A particularly strong wind likely could knock this girl over. Then he noticed…

That necklace. That damn, wretched, pitiable necklace. The necklace itself was a relatively intriguing item, with widely differing colors of crystals that adorned it. It was also the item that led him to destroy that girl’s family, and yet it still eluded him.

“Well, well, well,” Alex said smugly. “I see that you’ve come to return what is rightfully mine. What a nice girl.”

Alena’s complexion went pale, the color of milk. Her face was stricken in terror, her lips quivered violently.

“So? Hand it over, girl. I don’t have all day.”

His companions simply shrugged, or remained indifferent. Only Rider reacted, stepping in front of Alena, seemingly to guard her. What a pitiable sight.

“You leave me no choice. You sacrificed your parents to hold onto your heirloom, and now you sacrifice your servant,” Alex said with a voice full of contempt. “Lancer. Kill her. Kill both of them.”
