the story is usually the most important aspect of an rpg to me...though if the gameplay is horrific it really doesnt matter...that is why lunar and xenogears are in my top 5...though my exception would be star ocean 2 (not a bad story, but that isnt what made it for me)

well...I honestly have no problem with you or anyone else hating me. (though I dont hate you or anyone else on this board) My reasons for posting here are for entertainment. I have enjoyed caelus topics therefore I like caelus regardless of your opinion of me. Leon is another example as he clearly has a problem with me, I think he is the most dedicated user on this board to this board (certainly more so than me). I am not trying to garner support, just posting in threads that I like or have an opinion about.

I would like to see evidence lebron was a good closer this year (how many walk off shots, stats in last 2 min, ect). I watched probably 75 percent of heat games this year and cannot recall seeing lebron make on 'walk off shot' the entire season...how many are kobe and mj known for making?

kobe is not really in the discussion of goat for me...people always try and 'modernize' the best players, but you cannot ignore 10 championships...and bird may be considered the greatest celtic, but it is silly to ignore 10 championships.

I am not saying durant is a more complete player than lebron, but he is certainly a more prolific offensive threat. Look at his career numbers...

I remember all throughout the year lebron would either miss the game winner or delegate the shot to another player...he has never been a closer. that isnt up for debate.

well marino wasnt a 'choker' like lebron (lebron had overwhelming talent and still fell apart and failed), but that is an example of how talent =/= goat.

and had jordan failed a time or two (by failed I mean a lebron esque meltdown) bill russel would easily be considered the best ever. 10 championships speaks for itself...

you mentioned jordans abilities as a closer...and no logic goes behind arguing lebron was ever the heats best closer. wade has always been the one to take the last shot, and even in cleveland lebron would dump the ball off to williams if it ever came to a last shot situation. I acknowledge lebron is a great physical specimen and even a really good player, but it is silly to say he is the best of this era when kobe has 5 rings and is known for his killer instinct in clutch situations.

also, I dont see jordan being the 'greatest' had he choked numerous times....part of being the best is closing out games and being 'the guy' in that situation. lebron has never been that guy.

why do you think joe montana is considered to be a better qb than dan marino? marino had better fundamentals and skills at the position, but he could never get it done with his back against the wall. (though not quite a fair comparison for marino as he never had near the talent level lebron had)

No, he wouldnt be considered the greatest ever had he choked away a championship or two. The fact that he consistently came through in the clutch is what made him so great. Remember, Bill Russel is in the discussion with 10 NbA titles, and had Jordan been any less spectacular, we would probably be talking about Russel, Johnson and Bird.

well jordan had an inferior team talent wise compared to lebron...and no, he wouldnt be in the same place he is without winning every title he competed for. Jordan never lost a finals and always came up big in the clutch, that is what makes a good player legendary.

he did not play well at all...that much is blatantly obvious. the first game he played decent, after that was awful. And even if he had decent numbers throughout the series (he didnt at all) it wouldnt matter as he fell apart when it actually mattered, in the fourth quarter.

I would say the only real 'elite' pgs are rose and paul. some good ones (darren williams, westbrook) but it is hard to find elite pgs.

and I will give you the spurs series, though lebron had no reason to play terrible, but he has proven to be a choker. when you consistently fall apart in the crucial situations that is the only thing you can be called.
