Yeah, you can prevent Thane from getting killed by Kai Leng if you don't talk to him in the hospital first. He doesn't promise to help you protect your Virmire survivor so he doesn't show up.

If Kirrahe is dead, though, I have no clue what happens.

And I'm not sure if Thane dies anyway due to the disease or what.

So many possibilities.

You know, the PTSD asari at the hospital on the Citadel is probably the coolest random passerby character in the series. Always made sure to pass by her and see what she had to say.

You know you can approve them giving her a gun at the Spectre terminal after that conversation chain ends? If you do you actually lose a bit of readiness from C-Sec because it says she kills herself.

I'm torn on what to do with my Sentinel import. She romanced Thane, and on the one hand I want to see their conversations, both in the hospital and when he dies. On the other hand, if you don't talk to him in the hospital, he doesn't show up to help you with Kai Leng. Kirrahe does if he's alive, and I'm not sure what happens if he's dead.

I don't know if I want to save him or let him die like a boss. He is gonna die anyway, but I'm curious to see what happens if neither he nor Kirrahe show up.

I do agree that the endings make everything pointless. The relays blow up so everything in every system with a relay is likely dead. Those guys celebrating on Earth? Dead a few minutes later. All the people on the assembled fleet? Dead. It's possible that Earth is far enough away from the relay but then you've got all the races having to now live together on Earth. What are the turians and quarians gonna eat?

It's ridiculous. You manage to reclaim Rannoch and broker peace between the geth and the quarians, but now they're either dead or unable to return to Rannoch. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.

I can't comprehend how they were able to knock it out of the park with absolutely everything leading up to the end, even the bit with the Illusive Man and Anderson, and then just completely drop the ball at the crucial moment.

Oh well. I'll just ignore the endings from now on and enjoy the rest of this very awesome game.

Just finished it.

That...was certainly something.

Disappointing, but nowhere near the level people are blowing up about. I see people saying they'll never touch the series again, which is a little silly to me. Everything else in the game is amazing, so I can shrug off the ending being so bad, at least for the most part. The Battlestar Galactica comparisons make a lot of sense now.

I ending up having to do the control the Reapers ending since I walked over to it and the game freaking wouldn't let me walk away. That annoyed the crap outta me.

It is the best SMG in the game, so it makes sense to give it to you toward the end. It was way overpowered in ME2 especially since you could get it right off the bat.

I'm looking forward to doing a NG+ with it, though. It's the only gun I carry with the Black Widow, and since it's got that Ultralight mod it only adds like 2% to my cooldowns. It's awesome.

And I always love killing a Nemesis with the over-the-cover melee insta-kill.

Sabotaging turrets in the singleplayer is amazing so I can't wait to do it in the multiplayer.

I'm thinking of trying out a shotgun on my Turian Sentinel. Once I get him to LV20 and max Warp and Overload he's gonna be a monster. Right now I'm using an SMG and it works great but I think with a shotty he'd be an excellent assault class. Spam powers, shotgun everything, never die due to TA.

During the conversation with the boss on Rannoch, if you don't take the left option in the conversation and instead take the Renegade options on the right, after like two or three an interrupt pops up.

True, there's a lot of people unhappy with the ending. But saying the entire game sucks due to that? Seems silly to me.

Besides, it can't be denied that people love to trash Bioware for any perceived slight now. They release one game that the internet hates way more than it deserves (DA2) and suddenly they're the worst company ever and if you like them you're a Biodrone. Shows the side of the gaming community that I hate the most.

With the Turian Sentinel I just throw up TA, then run around Warping and Overloading as needed. TA makes me pretty durable, I imagine it's even more effective on a Krogan. I don't remember what skills they get. I just took an AR to beat the slow cooldowns TA causes.

Cryo Ammo is indeed amazing, but it's pointless on the Black Widow since you're one shotting nearly everything. And I prefer the stun effect of Disruptor Ammo, mostly because I've trained myself to immediately fire off an Incinerate when I see an enemy stunned so I get a tech burst.

Aww man. What a terrible time to start lagging. I was using my new Salarian Infiltrator, with a Mantis. I was on a Gold challenge with a few randoms and they all kept getting killed. So after the third or fourth time of saving this one dude I was like f*** it and ran away from the enemies to the other side of the map. I took care of them all myself. There was a Nemesis taking cover and I cloaked and took cover on the other side of her and did the melee insta-kill. I have found that to be the best way to defeat them.

Other than that, Energy Drain + Mantis shot works incredibly well.

Nice. I remember one time in the demo that an Engineer dropped a turret and it wiped out all my teammates, so I had to play hide 'n charge and ended up wiping out the enemies one by one. I'd charge at one, take him out, then run away and come at them from a different angle and kill another. Felt like I was hunting them.

I've heard the Salarian Infiltrator is a beast due to Energy Drain. Can't wait to try him out.

I want the Quarian as well just because with Sabotage she's the ultimate Geth killer.

Have you gotten hit with the Phantom's one hit KO yet?

I had everything on my Infiltrator maxed without any points in Cryo Ammo, and I didn't feel like throwing any into that, so I had to go grab a bonus power.

I went with Energy Drain. It's surprisingly effective and makes me pretty unkillable. Shields go down, drain 'em from someone else.

I'm tempted to try to New Game+ this file on Insanity with that build.

Jacob is the worst squadmate in the series, hands down. Kaidan and Ashley are at least a bit more interesting in ME3, and Vega isn't so bad. The guy has some great conversations with the other squadmates.

Tali, Wrex, and Garrus top three easily. Thane and Legion would be up there too. Javik is great but he's only in ME3 so that hurts him.

Basically anything thin enough. Shields, those low cover walls, those orange shields Cerberus uses. The Black Widow does the same thing, but the Javelin actually shows you if you can hit them because they glow purple.

I'll be going back to the BW after this mission, even though I like the Javelin. The one shot before reload thing kills me after getting three with the BW.

I actually like the Javelin. The charge delay is negligible and it has the added bonus of being able to see enemies through cover if you can shoot through the cover. Headshots on people crouching behind things are awesome.

It probably won't replace the Black Widow but it's pretty awesome. Especially the look of it and the noise it makes.

Hey, Halo, what mods did you use on your Black Widow?

I'm using the concentration mod and the extended barrel. More damage and more time dilation. It doesn't really need armor piercing since it does that already. The big scope does look really cool on it, though.

I love the weapon variety in this game. I've got like 9 assault rifles and I'm still doing the quarian arc. I have between 4 and 7 of every other type of weapon. And I still have some left to buy.

One thing I think was smart of Bioware was that if you miss a pickup during a mission, you can buy it in the store afterwards. So no missing weapons or upgrades, and it even applies to mission pickups. If you miss one of those you can buy it at the Spectre Requisitions place. It's a relief to know that if I miss something I won't have a mission sitting in my journal uncompleted.

Vanguards are great at the objective waves where you need to hunt down and kill specific enemies. Infiltrators do well on the ones where you need to run around activate stuff.

Though I once was on a team of nothing but Vanguards and it was hilarious. One guy getting charged by all four of us in rapid succession? Pure gold.
