yeah that's pretty shitty and i dont blame you for feeling bad about that one. the worst i've gotten is being stood up at a bar or restaurant.

not sure. i swipe right on so many people that i sorta lose track of how often they go nowhere (ie all of them)

i've been stood up once or twice. it definitely sucks and makes me feel unworthy :(

and yeah, ghosting, or having someone just drop out of a conversation without saying anything, is pretty common in the internet dating world. it sucks but c'est la vie i guess

creeping thyme are both good lawn plants that don't require much, if any, mowing and creeping thyme looks really great if you like purple.

i have some of this slowly growing in my lawn and i love it. i just let grass die off slowly, and other stuff replaces it. i have lots of clovers, dandelions and a little creeping thyme.

there was a spot of dead grass on my front lawn and one of my neighbors asked if i wanted her to patch it up for me. i told her no thanks b/c nature will take care of it. now it's clovers and dandelions and its much prettier.

Then two days later I'll be standing with my hands on my hips staring pissed off at all the dandelions that already popped up.

once you accept that 'weeds' are a natural part of lawn growth and stop fighting them, it makes lawn care a lot easier. also makes the bees and bunnies happy.

Man I'll take that over my 115 degree summer mowing escapades haha

mowing in the heat fucking sucks, especially if the sun is out. during the hot months i try my best to wait until like 8:30 or 9:00 to mow and use a headlamp to see.

i almost caved and paid for a lawncare service this year, but the gates in my fence that lead to the back yard aren't wide enough to fit a riding mower through and they won't service my yard until i get it widened.

it hadn't rained in about 1h and the grass was only slightly damp, so i knocked that shit out. didn't even clump much at all. maybe i overestimated how much a little water affects mowing.

People still say this as some kind of gotcha when Republicans use the government to do anything but the new generation of Republicans are much more populist and willing to utilize the power of the government to achieve the changes they want than the more Regan-era establishment.

because they still promote themselves as the "party of small government"

on a serious note, is a conservative willing to explain how this is remotely acceptable from your perspective? how is the party that claims to support freedom of choice and the free market okay with the government outright banning a product that has passed all safety inspections, etc. like this?

i thought that was one of Gilliam's best received movies? still need to watch it.

edit: meta of 69, RT of 82%, not as well received as i thought.

for me: Alien 3 (Director's Cut), Alien: Resurrection, Hitman.

the 1999 collection looks fun. definitely checking out "Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai". never seen "Girl Interrupted", might watch that. "Go" also looks interesting.

never seen any Shirley McClaine films, will probably watch "The Apartment".

"Manchurian Candidate" has been on my radar, I'll probably watch that. with how unsettling "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolfe?" was, i'm tempted to watch the rest of those but also not.

When i was still searching for jobs, there were entry level positions that required both a urine and hair test, for the great wage of $17 an hour. So they cant pay a living wage, but they will go above and beyond to test you.

when i was job hunting many years ago, i applied at places that did both tests knowing i would fail, just to make them waste money on an expensive hair test. at least back then, those hair tests were like $100-$200 or something.

what's really wild about drug testing for weed is that CBD, which is 100% legal at all levels of government, metabolizes into the same bi products as THC. meaning someone could take 100% legal CBD and still fail a weed drug test.

while schedule 3 is still fucking stupid, this is a step in the right direction. it should allow weed businesses to start accepting credit cards, for example.
