I was kicked out of a bar for refusing to stand and salute a guy after his Karaoke song played because he was on leave. All his friends mobbed me and got staff to throw me out.

The same people who screamed at everyone to support the troops suddenly stopped caring once those troops became homeless, suffer from mental illness, suffer from drug addiction, or all of the above. And especially if they spoke out against the US's actions in Afghanistan or Iraq.

It's actually pretty sad. I'm a lot less of a contrarion towards those people and their ideals these days than back then when I was a punk.

Most of them were just trying to make a living. They knew college loans were a scam, but got the short end of the stick another way.

But MGS warned us that this always happens.
