Maybe it meant nothing, but I find it so meaningful that a team of people thought to show Keith Haring to me when I was in 1st grade, when I was still obviously unaware that I was gay yet keenly aware that I was different in some way. If anything, maybe when I first rencountered his work as an adult I felt a faint resonance, a sense of familiarity with his noble outlinesLast week I saw an older guy wearing a Keith Haring shirt and had flashbacks of growing up in the 90s in New York.
