Funny enough Smallville literally had an episode like 20 years ago where Clark confronts his mother about his undocumented immigrant status to convey to her why they should help an immigrant. And Dean Cain fucking guest starred on that show and Im pretty sure it was after that episode

I came in to post about this. That's the only episode of the show I have ever seen and I still remember him getting into a disagreement with a border patrol guy over another undocumented immigrant.

The dumbest part about this is that Superman has almost always been ""woke"", I'm pretty sure it's always been political as well. Wasn't he supposed to be a personification of the New Deal or something?

I swear some people act like they were born yesterday.

The type of person who idolizes Homelander is the type of person who typically doesn't have a problem with that sort of thing.

Dean Cains Superman was ALSO super woke, just Dean has since gone nuts like most MAGA and forgotten because it's inconvenient.

Its funny because Superman is probably the biggest thing hes known for and he wasnt even particularly good at it. Ask any Superman fan who their favorite Superman is and I am 100% certain not a single one will say Dean Cain.

Christopher Reeve? Of course. Henry Cavill? Sure. Tom Welling? You betcha. Hell even Brandon Routh has some fans. But Dean Cain? Literally no one cares
Sorry Brandon is the Atom for me. I think if that character is ever used again hes my pick.

Lois and Clark was a fun show, so it has been slightly disappointing to me that Dean Cain is a MAGA moron. When I think of him at all.

I have my tickets for Saturday and cannot wait to see the movie. I bet it will be fun. All the better if the MAGA jerks stay away for the usual stupid reasons. More popcorn for me.

Small spoiler for Arrowverse:

At least he got to play Superman again in the crossover episodes!

I am one of the few people that tgought Returns was a decent Superman film. I certainly liked it better than the Snyder version.

Just a one-shot appearance, I believe, not recurring.
You can tell he genuinely believes the stupid shit he is saying, because he's not a good enough actor to pretend to be this fucking dumb.

Isn't there a "Superman curse" where actors' careers don't really take off after landing the role of Superman (either through bad luck or tragedy)

Hmm, I guess because starring as Superman is such a high profile role (my own assumption) that people would assume job offers will start rolling in after that.

Kinda like James Bond actors.

He never got a big Hollywood role again but he's been consistently acting. Arrowverse stuff for many years. Some Hallmark stuff. He was in a Taylor Swift music video!

Still more successful than 99% of actors.

It's also that a lot of the actors who play Superman weren't that largely well-known prior to playing them.

See, part of me thinks that this is a grift. It's been a long time since I watched episodes of Lois and Clark, but I remember the show being faithful to the character's values. Surely he would've picked up on that back then. That's why I wouldn't be surprised that it's all an act to get favor with the MAGA crowd. Which is even worse than actually believing it, in my view.

Then again, he could just be REALLY stupid...

The Superman he played was just as woke. He's just not smart enough to realize it.

Cain said, "Superman's inherent weakness [is] his goodness," a quality he described as emblematic of the character's "great values."
Translation: Cain demonstrates he has no comprehension of the character he played for 4 years.
"We will end our resilience for bad things." "We have pioneered the fatality rate."

Man is a snowflake just looking for something to be a crybaby or Karen about.

I just saw the movie yesterday. The movie is far from being "woke." The movie barely focuses on Superman being an immigrant. And like every story about Superman..... hes always been an immigrant, so Cain is just uneducated.

What would be even better is if you could dig up an old clip of Lois and Clark that showed Supes doing something that would be considered "woke" by today's standards and surprise Cain with it.
Simple questions deserve long-winded answers that no one will bother to read.
I guess his Superman is woke as well because he's part Japanese....like what the fuck kind of take is this?
