We chose this. This is what we wanted. Americans knew that Trump was a fascist, and chose to elect him anyway. This is who we are as a people, and anyone who voted for Trump that happens to suffer under his fascism is not a victim

In high school I had a government class taught by an actual US/presidential history nerd. Like, he could tell you every random factoid about any president ever. He was a hard nosed teacher, but he made civics and government class enjoyable. I'm not a super patriotic person, but it wasn't about that. It was about understanding the role and function of government. Back then it seemed silly, "what does this all matter?" I probably told myself

Well, one thing I took for granted is, most people didn't have that experience in school or didn't pay attention. When it came to voting this time, I knew what to do, because I was prepared.

This country traded in a LOT just for the promise of cheaper groceries, which he already mostly walked back. The people who just went with vibes and checked his name off without even knowing why other than vibes, will not be at all prepared for this.

It's pretty disgusting.

Lying, cheating, and general skullduggery are the defining traits of Donald Trump and the republican party...except for elections, we can totally trust them when it comes to those?

Like, there are definitely people who chose this, and the number of such people is way, way too high. But it's very naive to think the only way this could have happened is that a majority of Americans voted for it. Because, y'know, historically, people who established authoritarian regimes didn't exactly leave their subjects a choice in the matter.

Another important thing to remember is the second amendment is for all Americans, and that the police, and especially the government now, aren't there to help you. Those that support this new administration have a pretty large head start, so stock up, train up, and arm up now, before republicans decide that gun control's origins of disarming people of color and differing thoughts/beliefs should be their new platform once again for gun rights moving forward.

So concludes my bi-monthly visit to this dead site.
