No, I do not like your scrotum in my face, regardless what game you won. Teabagging mimics abuse of a corpse and it could bring PTSD in some sexual assault victims.

I happen to be one such person who was lucky to have avoided molestation myself and yet every time I am subject to this, I feel like the person doesn't see me as a person on the other end and regulated to a piece of meat.

In Elden Ring, it's rampant and there's no shortage of punks online who do this and in other circles, it will get you banned.

Seriously, do an emote, spin around in circles, wave your weapon around. Heck, I'd rather you anything else than think this is okay. It's not and the more people start losing accounts for this, the more people will learn to respect a person's boundaries.

Sack to crack, going to town
I think it was one of the Tenchu games (Tenchu Z?) where holding the stealth button while running just resulted in a slightly slower, more mindful run, and I really, really appreciated that compared to crouch walking everywhere. Crouch walking, especially in armor like in Assassin's Creed, has always looked so dumb to me. It makes sense when next to a short fence you're ducking behind or something like that, but otherwise it just looks goofy.

I think crouching in general should be a context-based action. If you press stealth but you're behind a wall or sneaking up on someone from behind, crouching doesn't make you more stealthy. But if you're in some brush or tall grass, or behind a short fence, absolutely crouch.

My idea was more simple, but I also like this. Reminds me how the scarecrow guy in Bad Fur Day talked about "context sensitive".

I do agree about it needing to be changed because it could trigger sexual assault victims.

Anyone who bring up old ass games and how nobody saying this or not wanting to hear other players spouting off racist, misogynistic, sexual, etc shit wouldn't last in 2000's COD lobby should never be taken seriously and needs to grow the fuck up.

There was never room for that shit back then or even now, it's uncalled for and just really fucked up.

I unfortunately still hear similar shit when in a party with randoms for a Playlist in GTA online. Countless times I've left the party and game because of people saying stupid hateful shit, reporting does zero fucking good.

If you defend any of that behavior, grow the fuck up and stop trying to be edgy.

I'd like to think most of the people who did it back then and do it now are just trying to be edgy but unfortunately there's people who are actually that way and not trying to be edgy.

That's why I suggested tiptoeing. I got the idea from the Wrath of Neo Cortex Crash game when it was used to go over Nitro blocks. I kinda want to play it again.

I can definitely agree toxic behavior like that has no place in games. It doesn't bother me, because I grew up with it and could care less, but it's not something we should just expect people to get desensitized to instead of correcting it.
The anonymity of online gaming really just brings out the shittiest behavior in some people, and they need to be kept in line or kicked out. Simple as.

I imagine early games just went with crouching because it was easier to animate, and most games stuck with it for either the same reason, or the game design 101 rule: don't change basic controls that people are used to.

I obviously can't speak for all sexual assault victims, but I've never been bothered by teabagging. I honestly never even thought it was a thing people actually did in real life until I heard stories about some recent Republican representatives and their college days...

maybe it's because my first exposure to teabagging was in WoW, where you literally had to /sit on someone(who had probably already released) so it didn't really look like actual teabagging. But it still seems pretty harmless compared to what people can say in chat.

Tiptoeing only works in games that it is meant solely as a stealth mechanic which basically eliminates all online FPS where the teabagging happens most often. You crouch to lower your hit box or to use cover. Tiptoeing will only make those things worse.
Bees
Removing the ability to crouch to fight against teabagging won't solve anything. In DBD, killers who want to bm can walk back and forth over a survivor in dying state to simulate "humping". We can't just remove players ability to control their characters movement to stop any form of BM that could be interrupted as SA.

I get where you are coming from, but many games have crouching as a mechanic. There are reasons a player may need to make their hitbox smaller or hide their model from LoS. Removing valid mechanics, because of the possibility of abuse will just result in worse games.
http://i.imgur.com/BBcZDLJ.png
What happens in fighting games though? Being able to rapidly switch between standing and crouching is absolutely essential.
( ^_^)/\(^_^ ) Maya High-Five!
Remove crouching and they'll just find another way to molest your character. The best thing to do to avoid it is to simply not play multiplayer games.

Although at the same time...I find getting triggered by this a bit odd lol. It's just a video game, and it's just some characters models moving up and down on another character model. You're not actually, physically getting teabagged >.>

It's more or less how I feel like I'm being treated; like trash. If teabagging "wasn't a thing" in our world and had no meaning to it, I probably wouldn't care.

However, it does mean something; placing one's scrotum on the face of a dead person. It's almost a necrophiliac action and it shows so much disrespect for the person you do it to.

It doesn't help that people in my family still deny I was ever going to be molested. That hurts more than the attempt itself since that man is no longer in my life, but my family is.

I have a respite care worker that is a great friend. We went to Sonic this morning and I can always tell her my thoughts without judgement. She's better than a therapist because she's actually a friend and not a person who understands me. I've seen therapists and they all are a bit shallow when it comes to my issues.

But the reason I made this topic is because I was constantly being teabagged in Elden Ring. Three straight invasions ended this way and they were all different groups.

I really hate this world and when it ruins the enjoyment of other worlds I can visit to forget my woes...well, it feels like I can't truly escape.

They quite honestly dont. Im not sure Ive ever even met someone in twenty or so years of playing shooters that has ever expressed a genuine concern for the player on the other side. Id be incredibly concerned if people thought of those online avatars as other real people; and still decided to kill them.

I guess what Im saying is its not you theyre disrespecting, its the opponent who they just beat that looks like a virtual character. I actively avoid content and real life circumstances that trigger PTSD (which is actually the opposite of modern therapy, but a licensed counselor should assist with that). I would imagine people who have PTSD triggered by being shot at avoid shooting games entirely.

Even on these forums, people barely empathize enough with strangers to consider the feelings of the person behind the text; and were not simulating murder like competitive shooters. I do remember you as a poster and a person, and I hope you read what Im saying with the sympathetic sincerity Im trying to convey. Its just that the internet has so far shown that its the place where the worst of ourselves is let out, and many people struggle even in real life with being courteous.

I think I suggested it before, but I highly recommend professional counseling. Lots of places offer medical services for free if you lack insurance and income; Im getting free care in San Antonio, TX of all places. Surprisingly, this counselor is even by far the best Ive had, even if that comes with its own issues. Im always open to PMs if you had questions about counseling, free care services, or anything else (including being yelled at for being tactless).

Martyrdom. I actually pulled that off in PUBG the other day when a team of four tried to gank me. Guess they didnt expect someone to pull a grenade when they knew they were going down.

I hear ya. The only reason I play games online is bots aren't very smart and no game I'm familiar with has replicated the unpredictability of a human mind.

I haven't played Call of Duty for a while and this is happening in Elden Ring as well. I've watched streamers online were people will teabag the host when he or she is felled. Sometimes with multiple people at once. I've also had that happen to me as well.

But why am I the one to change when this happening? This feels like a situation where everyone but the problem is the one that has to change and that's not right.

I seriously hate that people have to be this awful. Despite my love for succubi, I don't like the idea of rape. Heck, the two I met asked me if I wanted to lay with them instead of climbing on top of me as I slept.

i don't get this. i don't get it anymore than i get people getting mad at fighting games like Soul Calibur where you can still hit your opponent after they are already beaten. or any more than i get that weird news story a few months ago about someone claiming to have gotten "virtually raped" in the Metaverse. all that's happening is a character model is moving on a screen. the movements aren't even sexual or explicit. and they amount to literally nothing. there is nothing that happens to your player character any differently if they get teabagged versus if they didn't. it just seems like a really trivial thing to be so upset about.
