I think it was one of the Tenchu games (Tenchu Z?) where holding the stealth button while running just resulted in a slightly slower, more mindful run, and I really, really appreciated that compared to crouch walking everywhere. Crouch walking, especially in armor like in Assassin's Creed, has always looked so dumb to me. It makes sense when next to a short fence you're ducking behind or something like that, but otherwise it just looks goofy.

I think crouching in general should be a context-based action. If you press stealth but you're behind a wall or sneaking up on someone from behind, crouching doesn't make you more stealthy. But if you're in some brush or tall grass, or behind a short fence, absolutely crouch.

My idea was more simple, but I also like this. Reminds me how the scarecrow guy in Bad Fur Day talked about "context sensitive".
(She/Her) I'm a succubus. Don't worry, I'm not going to hurt you. <3
