That is a take. I might not live there, but I've been there and I've seen people ask for their food to be done to different temperatures before so idk exactly your issue was. You act like you are on a different planet or something
In Canada it's very simple. You just order a burger. They don't ask you how you want it done because that's an asinine question, the same way they wouldn't ask you how you wanted your chicken done.I like my burgers well done too, but why compare chicken with beef? They aren't even remotely the same as far as food safety is concerned.
Those stupid Americans, eating undercooked minced beef.Difference is those dishes use beef that is (or at least should be) ground right before serving. That crap you buy at the supermarket, which is what most people and restaurants use, need to be cooked through because it's sitting around so long bacteria have a chance to grow.
Nothing like the rest of the civilized world, who-

This topic is about burgers but good call, other food cultures can be gross too and I wouldn't eat any one of those dishes.Tell me you dont know anything about food safety without telling me you dont know anything about food safety.

Telling on yourself.Nah. Freshly ground beef is food safe at medium rare. It only has to be taken to well done when its sat in a package after being ground so bacteria has time to grow.

"Hamburger, obviously, is made up of ground meat, and so any bacteria that was present on the surface of the cut of meat before it was ground can be introduced into the center of the hamburger patty."
But she says its different with steak. "If a steak is contaminated with a bacteria, it would usually be on the surface of the steak, so heating the surface of the steak to a high temperature is usually enough to kill off any bacteria that may be there."
Burger's being cooked through isn't a take lol.
That being said I haven't been asked how I want my burger in a long time so maybe restaurants aren't doing that anymore.I went to one that brought out a safety waiver for me to sign when I asked for medium or medium well (it was a while ago).
Medium rare on steak.
Medium well or well done on burger.
It's a little bit more than that.Yeah and the cooking process kills it as long as its freshly ground. Any butcher, any chef, any pit master, will tell you freshly ground beef is safe at medium rare.

RAW is the way to go baby.
Even a rare burger is going to be cooked thorough they aren't just going to give you an uncooked middle portion.This.

But even for the pre-packed stuff, a medium or medium well burger isnt going to hurt you at least 9 out of 10 times so anyone screeching about it is just hilarious to me.
Continues to laugh in Canadian. Are you telling us Canada has garbage meat safety, or what's your actual point here?
Continues to laugh in Canadian.
Also, I tried a "pink" burger last year and it was fucking disgusting. My mind couldn't get over the texture, it felt wrong.
This.

Do you eat your Steaks well done too?
