Yeah and the cooking process kills it as long as its freshly ground. Any butcher, any chef, any pit master, will tell you freshly ground beef is safe at medium rare.

But even for the pre-packed stuff, a medium or medium well burger isnt going to hurt you at least 9 out of 10 times so anyone screeching about it is just hilarious to me.
