I used to mildly enjoy some of his tv show/movie parts and kind of brushed off his antics but after the Phil Hartman wife thing I just have no tolerance for him.

I'm 99% of the time in the camp of separating the art from the actor and not caring about how people are personally but with him I can't do it.

Many people blame Andy for the death of Phil Hartman. He gave cocaine to Phil's wife, a recovering addict, who later shot him. While irresponsible and callous, I don't think that's his fault. She put the drugs in her nose, she pulled the trigger. All on her.

Andy's a piece of crap addict (not that all addicts are crap) which is why his career ended, but can you really blame him for Phil's wife committing murder suicide though? It was her choice to relapse on Andy's coke and eventually commit the murder. As a recovering alcoholic when someone offers me a drink I pass. Can't even blame the coke for what she did. It doesn't turn people into killers.

I feel like saying "Andy Dick does thing while drunk " is a redundancy. What isn't he doing while drunk?

Of course he's not solely to blame for Phil Hartman's death, he definitely contributed to it. Things could have been different without him getting her back on coke.

Even if she didn't murder Hartman, it's a really shitty thing to do. Didn't he joke about it which led to Lovtiz hitting him? Seems like he feels no remorse over it all.

I feel like putting all of that on him is a reach. Yeah it's fucked up that he reintroduced drugs to a recovering addiction, and he's an all around shit person, but Hartmans wife ultimately made the choices she made.

Unless he gave her the gun and drove her to the house or something.
