You guys are all forgetting USA will never let China take Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC).
They will use WMDs before they let TSMC go to China.

The US is colluding with several other nations (Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Netherlands), to make something of a chip cartel akin to OPEC. The only way that this will be possible will be to replicate those TSMC fabs in other nations. We see this happening in states like Arizona and Ohio now.

So the US recognizes this fatal flaw woth Taiwan and is taking steps to make a takeover of Taiwan a lesser of a threat. It's still a possibility, though.

At the end of the day, Russia still stands as the bigger threat.

There is nowhere else in the world that builds it.
It would take decades to ramp up another manufacturing facility to build more advanced chips than those plants in Taiwan.

Russia can take Europe with it when it does destroy itself. We shoukd not want that. I really do think that Putin is delusional enough to go to war with NATO. Just a few functional nukes can cause a lot of bad shit, and so I'd rather consider that a non-zero number of Russia's nukes work than let my hubris tell me none don't.
