Telling someone to shut the fuck is a verb, you're telling someone to do something. When you're calling someone a bitch, you're trying to establish that that's what they are as a noun. That's the difference.
Lol well k.
Just saying, that's the difference.
Of course, you also can't tell someone to go do something violent to themselves, just that telling someone to stfu is just a strongly-worded "shut up".
i've seen topics that said "something something, bitches!" when the TC was excited about whatever, and they never got modded. that mod discretion, baby, keeps a fire under your ass
Still using a cuss word. Mine was a completely joke/harmless statement. I find it hard to believe anyone here was offended by it.

But saying STFU is totally harmless? One mod said it once and now it's got immunity because they don't mod their own kind.

I highly doubt being a verb is what makes it okay, otherwise everyone would be telling everyone to kill themself.

You know, it is kinda funny how saying "wassup bitches" violates the rules because it's technically flaming, but saying STFU isn't because it doesn't violate any rules, even though the latter is way more aggressive than the former.
Just one of the more comical blind spots of the rules I suppose
STFU was not allowed on this site for the longest time. It's only recent (maybe a few years) when it's been allowed.
Like, I never saw anybody say it on Politics because we understood it to be a moddable offense, or at least assumed it to be. I didn't see people saying that so heavily until I came to CE.
It seems more like the mods have laxed the rules.
Why are the rules so hard to follow for *certain types* of people?
