The owner of the bar gets angry, yells at, then shoves the cop. Bar owner is now facing charges.

That's what the officer claims happened. I sure as hell wouldn't assume he's telling the truth. Wouldn't be the first time a cop committed a crime and then tried to turn it around by throwing false charges on the very person they harmed.

Officer crashes into his building and then demands his ID, like the cop has a right to be there in the first place.

Does Missouri even have a stop and identify law that could remotely justify such a ballsy move? (Not that I can really imagine it applying inside someone's business you just crashed into...)

Stop and ID law only refers to operating a vehicle. Any other application is a violation of the 4th amendment. So, no, police can never demand ID if you're not operating a vehicle without reasonable articulable suspicion of criminal activity.

Everything about this screams misconduct.

Sounds like the cop was trying to stop the bar owner from filming, and the owner put his hand up when the cop tried to snatch his phone.

Hopefully they release footage of the incident

Terry stop states do require reasonable suspicion to ask, sure. But find me an interaction with a cop, on foot or otherwise, that's truly "consensual," when the reality is that if you don't do a thing a cop says, suddenly you're "resisting" and in cuffs.

I went and looked it up. Only Kansas City in MO is Terry stop territory. He shouldn't have been asking anything of the store owner except, "Can I give you my insurance card?" and then leaving before reporting self-inflicted damage to his patrol car.

Shame the cop made it through. Instead of being grateful, he immediately turned into the rancid sack of shit he is and shifted the blame onto the owner of the bar, as if he had some right to plow his way through a fucking wall of a business and suffer no repercussions.

Fucking degenerate sacks of shit society would be objectively better without.

Yeah... About the only way that I would view this as anything other than him explicitly doing it on purpose is if he fails some level of a drug test.

It's just a guess, but it honestly seems like the cop might've been intoxicated.

He sees a dog that wasn't actually there, driving what appears to be way too fast at night, crashes, then gets aggressive after he crashes.

Idk, it's not definitive, I'm not going to say he was intoxicated for sure, but at this point, it wouldn't surprise me if he was.

Could have been texting and then looked up when he got close to the SUV and over corrected, but yeah that video is hilariously bad. Was hoping it was posted in here.

We know it's a lie because a cop wouldn't swerve to miss a dog.

Generally when a fucking Cop commits major crime like reckless driving their car through your wall it should be policy to NOT charge the victim for minor acts of anger like shoving.

In a just world the prosecutor would consider fist fighting an angry Polar Bear more appealing and reasonable then prosecuting a minor act of anger with zero lasting harm against gross police misconduct/incompetence that harmed said angry person. Tell the cop to be not be a petty incompetent baby and throw the charges in the garbage or deliberately fuck the case up so the case has to be thrown out.

Police get extreme leeway when dealing with civilians. Civilians face EXTRA scrutiny when dealing with cops. Its insane.

The cop and prosecutor should be in prison for life for abuse of power.

Yeah, you can see the cop SUV nearly hit the car parked in the street when it swerves. Probably too busy looking at his phone instead of the road.

I wonder what the cam from inside the cabin shows

On the surface this seems like crazy deflection but why are we so certain the cop will not face charges himself for crashing into the building? A big deal is made of the cop turning it around on the club owner, and yeah that's probably him deflecting as I said, but the reality is he was still an officer on duty and you can't just assault him lol or anybody for that matter. The owner is rightly pissed off but maybe he should've used his words and played it smart. Before anybody cries that I'm "victim shaming", imagine how much worse it would've been for the cop if he had been the only one in the wrong here. He'd take all the heat from all sides, there would be no way for him to deflect.

I was thinking that too, but the added bit at the end where the cop is just hyper aggressive makes me think alcohol or something was involved.

But you know, cops are often just hyper aggressive by default. So it could've been texting as well.

That's just STL cops. lol

It's mainly because all witness footage/accounts say they are lying about the cop being assaulted.
