I would deliver food for Uber eats, however I'm against letting random people get inside my car for various reasons. I know the bar people are good business for late night drivers, however that comes with the risk of them vomiting, shitting, or pissing in your car. Or being so obnoxiously engaged with the driver they may cause an accident.

But even for other times of day you just don't know who's getting into your car.

Not long ago a KY woman who came to my city, shot & killed the Uber driver because she "thought he was kidnapping her and taking her to Mexico" just because they passed by a sign indicating the border port of entry was close by.

I did it for a couple years. It was fun and the money was great. Met lots of cool people.

No thanks. Google says Uber drivers earn between $15 and $22 per hour. I'd have to work a ton of hours for that to be even remotely worth it. And I'm not doing that when I already work full time and with higher pay than that.

  1. My car is a coup and the backseat is meant for people without legs.
  2. I finally have a job where I don't have to deal with the general public, I never want to do that again.
  3. I love driving, but I want to extend the life of my car as long as possible and don't want extra wear and tear on it.
  4. I have heard when it comes to tax time it's probably more hassle than I've ever had to deal with to report income amd stuff since you're technically freelance for Uber (correct me of I'm wrong).
  5. Gas is too damn expensive here in L.A. and my car takes premium.

Some do, sure. But there's so many variables that your earnings are going to be sporadic. And I can't imagine spending 8 hours of my free time driving around, just to make $120 ($15 an hour x8). It takes me $60+ just to fill up my tank.
