I know the words have been around for a while and whatnot, gen z slang just makes it easier to describe.

Anyways, I like bet. It sounds beautifully sarcastic at times and that makes me happy.

A lot of slang people think are new have been around for a while. Kids were saying "bet" since the early 2010s, for example.

Anyone over the age of 30 using Gen Z slang reminds me of when our parents would say bling bling to try and fit in with us.

I know

I'm talking about what's commonly used now. Everyone has been saying yeet for a while, I say yeet and have for a while. A lot of the gen z thing is relatively new to me (although my sister's boyfriend has said some if it for a long time)

Since the 80s, man. Since the 80s at least. That's when I first heard it.
I use Google... A lot.... >______>
skibidi thing is so ironic. Skibidi toilets are made by a millennial using Half-Life 2 / Garry's Mod assets. It was made for the millennials who thought "Badge Badger" was funny. literally the same kind of twisted, weird humor I've always enjoyed but somehow it's a "zoomer" thing idfk

Doesnt that depend on the slang? If you hang out in the same online spaces you just pick that shit up naturally.
I don't know what a rizzler is, but it sounds funny.

Earlier than that. MC Breed used "Bet" in Ain't no Future in Yo Frontin' in 1991 .

A lot of what people think is new Gen Z "slang" is actually AAVE that people have been saying for years.

A while ago I had to explain that "bussin" is AAVE (specifically Gullah Geechee).

Was it used the same. Way it's used these days I haven't encountered till maybe past 10 years. Before that it seemed to be used for something that would actually be a bet like if a certain team would win or lose. Nowadays people use it as a means of trying to clarify they will do what they said or deny someone claiming they won't do something

Eh younger folk love sports too. Makes sense to appeal to younger gens cause you'll get more tike and money spent since they are younger. They just hope once you hit a certain age you won't need to be appealed to like that to stay a fan.
