Season 1 was pretty good and kind of followed along with the books for the most part. Then season 2 came along and said fuck the books and fuck the game and fuck the fans and fuck Cavill. Not gonna watch season 3.

Thst isnt really true because the witcher games happen after the books, and never tried to be an adaptation but more of a continuation.

The show however doesnt have anything to do with the books or the show and is a complete bastardization, like most adaptations. Its pretty much a netflix rule these days to be completely unfaithful to source material.

I don't think anyone contests the books suck, but if your show is going to be based on them...

But regardless it's still an assumption they dislike it, right? Even if must have been something big to get Cavill to leave something he openly adored.

The core of the plot is good and the characters are interesting but the way the narrative is structured is awful.

Some of it is likely just a personal taste thing, and it could also be that some of it get losts in the translation from Polish, but I've met very few people that I know that actually enjoyed the books.
