Use of the term "f**" or anything similar is almost always going to be unacceptable, even when you are not intending to be offensive. Please re-word your message text.

I'm trying to post a link and I get this and I'm like, huh? Why would you code something this way? And besides, I thought the use of vulgar language became permissible on this site. One F word is okay but the other isn't? It all seems so arbitrary to me.

I think everyone missed my point. I was trying to post a URL that contained those letters at random. I couldn't post the link because the URL happened to contain those letters together.

I'm still not sure how I'm bypassing censorship of a word that's not censored here anymore.

Ok, this is just silly. One is a derogatory epithet intentionally meant to disparage a historically marginalized community. The other is the most versatile word in the English language because it's a noun, verb, adjective, and pretty sure I'm missing some others.

Context matters.

Because typing it in a way that's not recognized by the profanity filter is censor bypassing.

It still needs to be censored properly if you're doing so manually; first letter and length. The addition of the filter hasn't changed this.
100% of users who complain that the soul of the site has been "stripped out" don't know what the site's soul is supposed to be.

Yes, context matters. In this case the word happened to appear in a string of letters in a URL. It wasn't being used as a slur. Now if the other F word happened to appear in a URL, it wouldn't be an issue. The only way I can make sense of it is if the mere sight of the word is considered offensive. Which is still odd considering there are PTSD triggering words that we are allowed to use freely here.
