What did you expect from Activision
I think a few people (myself included) were hoping that the extreme monetization in Diablo Immortal was that way so that Diablo IV could just be a videogame that you buy and then play.
Who wanted mounts in diablo seriouslyCrusaders
Why wouldn't it be? This is Activision. You saw Diablo Immortal.
Not surprised.
Do you guys not have wallets?

Its not just German I got the same survey a week ago, I voted for a cash shop because theyre just only going to sell cosmetic upgrades and mounts
For what it's worth, WoW has a cosmetic cash shop. The consequence is that any unique or amazing-looking mounts go in the cash-shop while the game itself gets a lot of recolors. There's also WoW tokens which effectively allow you to buy almost anything.
The Warlords of Draenor expansion was the worst with this. All of the store shops released in that time correlated to factions on Draenor. Any other expansion, they'd have been rewards for maxing your reputation with those factions. So instead you have a situation where the collector's edition mount is a dread raven while the bird people that ride dread ravens reward you with the 13th recolor of a goat.
There's also WoW tokens which effectively allow you to buy almost anything.
And since you can sell the wow token to get blizzard cash which you can spend on another game, Activision Blizzard has created the most horrifying new type of monetization system I heard a YouTuber describe as "play to earn to pay to win."
This is functionally identical to complaining that WoW required 100 gold to get your mount.
Play to earn to pay to win.
Except wow tokens can be bought with real money and the market value fluctuates based on a real market, so it's really not the same as a closed economy consisting entirely of a digital currency. There's not much difference between using gold to buy tokens to buy gold to buy gladiator, versus just using gold to buy glad. But the existence of the WoW token makes gold all the more valuable since you pay your sub fee with it.
