I assume you mean without romance. I guess it depends on how close we're talking but I suppose it could always happen, technically, even if only temporarily.

Have you fucked any of them? Would you fuck any of them? I think that's what it boils down to, not necessarily being friends. But you end up having sex, and sex can open a can of worms if someone catches feels or something. That kinda thing. At least that's how I come at this discussion.

Yes, and even if there are sexual feelings (which there usually are) it isn't that hard to keep those under control. Sometimes these friends actually do act on those desires and have a fling to kinda get them out of the way, and go back to being friends.

nope.

if there's any possible way i can potentially be attracted to them, then the whole concept of friendship goes out the window.

doesn't mean i wouldn't keep them close though but i'll never perceive them in the same way as a (for me)same sex friend.
