all this topic did was make me realize i don't listen to that many girls and i'm not sure what to do with that information
I think I'm the opposite, I might tend to listen to more female vocalists. Maybe not consciously, but it does work out that way. Or maybe not. It just kind of feels like I do.
And I don't really listen to "singers" so much. I have more focus on the production, but if they have good vocals, that's great too. A recent example being Magdalena Bay. Matt Lewin produces the songs, and this is what hooked me. Mica Tenenbaum's voice kind of annoyed me at first, but she's really grown on me and she has a way of making me want to sing along.
Off the top of my head though
Male: Louis Cole, Thundercat, Joji, dudes from King Gizzard (I believe Stu Mackenzie fronts most of the time but the others have their songs, too?), and if rap counts, Ren and Wax maybe?
Female: Honestly, mostly Japanese singers. Utada used to be a big one but I haven't actively listened to her music in a while. Natsuko Miyamoto from Mass of Fermenting Dregs, Ikkyu from Tricot. Also a lot of older musicians from 70's and 80's but I say this with the caveat of specifically those periods. Akiko Yano, Yoshiko Sai, Hako Yamasaki, Taeko Ohnuki... I could keep listing them.
I just like music a lot
